      Takamine GS430S G NEX Acoustic Guitar (104621347)
Availability:

The dreadnought depth ensures a great level of volume, yet it has the feel of a small-bodied guitar.

The Takamine GS430S G NEX is an acoustic guitar that represents a truly outstanding value. The GS430S Takamine guitar has a solid cedar top and nato back and sides for rich and sweet tone.

The NEX body is a signature Takamine design with a tantalizing blend of easy, comfortable playability and big, resonant sound. It offers a balanced tonal response with deep bass; clear treble; and a sweet, round midrange that projects well.

Other features of the Takamine GS430S G NEX include chrome tuners, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and a natural satin finish. With its impressive style and performance, the Takamine GS430S guitar is an excellent accompaniment to the singer-songwriter, or the finger-style player.

  • Lovely Guitar w/Slight Nuances

As reviewed by John Gore on 9/29/2008

I have owned this guitar for 6 months. I have strung it with both Elixirs and Martins and either way, the sound is very rich. The tones are almost piano-like. It is very easy to string because of the bridge design, it also tunes easily and stays in tune. Now...the nuances: For me, I found the string tension a little tight even with light 11s. And the neck is slightly narrower and thinner than what you'd find on similar martin/taylors making it more suitable for smaller hands, bar chords, and classical playing style. Big hands with wrap around playing style...forget it! If you fall somewhere in between, I think it's worth the slight extra effort because of the sound quality and the price.

  • Amazing entry level priced acoustic blues guitar

As reviewed by Randy on 7/14/2009

I could not believe the tone and playability of this guitar that sells for such a reasonable price. I own several acoustic guitars that fall into the "Folk" and "Blues" catagory including a turn of the century Lyon & Healey Parlor and a Gibson J45 both costing big bucks. While dreaming about a Martin OOO Eric Clapton Signature model I happened on this Takamine at one tenth the price and 98% of the tone. Excellent playability and truely great tone and sound seperation. Very worth your consideration if the blues or any acoustic music is what you are into!

  • Great guitar

As reviewed by Evan R. on 12/31/2008

Out of all of my guitars, this is my favorite right now. The cedar top gives a very warm tone and it came with an overall great set up. I like how the bridge is designed without any pins and the tuners are also very nice. I was surprised and very pleased with the high volume. Personally, I'm not worried about the lack of pickguard. I think it looks better without one. I also think it looks pretty cool without inlays on the fretboard. It was an overall great buy and this first Takamine of mine will definitely not be my last.
