  • Great affordable A-E with plenty of sound!

As reviewed by Nat on 11/18/2008

This is a Tak that was recommended to me by the store owner as I was looking for what I hope would be a powerful A-E. It has great tone, stays in tune and has good volume unplugged. It is a dream to play and I must say that many of the Takamines are very close in feel and sound. I have played this guitar through my Crate acoustic amp and it produces a very good quailty sound that would be welcome on any stage. I like it so much that I want to get another Takamine soon maybe in KOA this time. Wonderful for the price I paid.

  • Great Bargain, Great Sound

As reviewed by Ron Hammelman on 2/26/2011

I never played a Takamine as I've always been a Martin fan. Happened to pick on this Tak in a competitor's store just passing time and was completely surprised with the rich mellow sound and especially the price. I knew I wanted it and took 2 days to make my mind up. Went on Guitar Center's web, ordered, received in just 3 days, and really enjoy the sound. A nice addition to my Fender. Very happy, thanks.

  • An Awesome Guitar, Great Value

    As reviewed by on 8/28/2007

I've been playing guitar for about 3 years now, and I was looking to upgrade from my Jasmine (by Takamine). After looking around at all kinds of acoustics from Fender, Ibanez, Epiphone, and a few others, I went with the Takamine EG340SC. I was very impressed by how warm it sounded, and how you could get anything from booming lows to singing high notes. It has a much more "alive" sound than a lot of other guitars I tried out. It can play as loud or as soft as you want. It stays in tune forever, I only tune it once every month or so and it never goes out of tune. It can also be easily adjusted to different tunings and stay there for as long as you want it to, then easily go back where you want it. If I had to find a downside, it would be that the higher frets on the D and high E strings whine a little bit if you don't play something else after it, but overall it is one of the best guitars I have ever played and at a very low price for the guitar.
