      Takamine G FXC G260C Acoustic Guitar (583221)
Availability:

A smaller body shape, that lends itself perfectly for vocal accompaniment.

The Takamine G FXC G260C Acoustic Guitar is a finger-style player's delight. The FXC guitar's tone is delicate and bell-like with soft mid-tones and plenty of high-end sparkle. The Takamine G260C also holds up very well when called upon to hold down the rhythm section. While smaller bodied guitars are exquisite finger-style instruments, they are often used on stage by jazz and pop players looking for a light, comfortable performance tool that has a high feedback threshold at extreme sound pressure levels. Takamine GFXC guitar's cutaway design adds comfort when accessing the higher-register frets. The solid spruce top offers balanced tone, while its strong nato body brings out plenty of clear projection. A rosewood bridge and fretboard and a mahogany neck with dovetail joint deliver plenty of sustain. The neck is asymmetrical with a 1-5/8" nut width that provides comfort for intricate fretboard movements. The chrome hardware and chrome tuners and the G FXC G260C's gloss finish add a shine to this already beautiful Takamine guitar. • Perfect fit!

As reviewed by Kenny on 4/18/2011

Chose this particular guitar because 1. I wanted a smaller body guitar to fit my smaller hands. 2. Wanted something to play/learn fingerstyle. I've been playing/learning on a full size dreadnought and found some fretting to be difficult because of my small hands. I started looking around for an alternative and found this Takamine. I looked at the specs and saw that it was a smaller body, as well as a slightly narrower neck at the nut. As the description says, this guitar is perfect for fingerstyle and I agree. The sound is very nice for fingerstyle with a bass that doesn't overpower. You can also strum this guitar if you'd like but I would use a lighter more flexible pick, otherwise it will sound a little off. I love this guitar and having fun learning how to play fingerstyle. I would highly recommend if you are in the same boat as I.
