Overview

Finally, the effects you've heard on chart-topping tracks from artists pushing the envelope of vocal sounds are available in a pedal. VoiceTone Synth brings together a collection of exotic and current sonic mayhem including jagged HardTune effects, a MassiveBand Vocoder with voice-controlled synth and vocal distortion and megaphone effects. Now vocalists and anyone looking to add a modern edge to their live performances and studio productions can dial-in these effects instantly with the press of a footswitch.

HardTune
The jagged, stair-stepped vocal sound of key-based hard tuning is everywhere in contemporary R&B, Hip Hop and Electronica. This feature has eluded the majority of performing musicians until VoiceTone Synth came along. Now musicians can produce this effect live by simply recalling a preset and hitting the 'On' button. Easy key input methods include auto-instrument sensing or pushbuttons with a clear display of the current key. Other features of the HardTune effect include dry voice mixing, octave shift and character modification.

Vocoder
The vocoder in VoiceTone Synth is called 'Massive-Band' for a reason. It effectively scales resolution from ultra-clearly-enunciated Robot voices to the sound of the classic, analog low-band-count vocoders we all know and love. The benefit is that, while typical vocoders require a lot of pre-processing like distortion and EQ to hear the effect properly, with the VoiceTone Synth vocoder effect you can input signals such as clean acoustic guitar and vocode perfectly for sounds that until now have been impossible to achieve.

Voice-controlled Synth
The Vocoder also features a voice-controlled synth mode—considered by many as the Holy Grail for vocoding. Prior to VoiceTone Synth, vocoding required your voice (the exciter), and an instrument input (the carrier) to make cool vocoded sounds. Of course VoiceTone Synth supports the dual input method, but for artists who don't have another instrument or don't play one, VoiceTone Synth can generate a synth part directly from your vocal and vocode that. The result? Generated vocoder parts with one input: your voice.

VoiceSupport is a Windows/Mac application that via USB connects your VoiceTone Synth with our support network. What can you expect?

TC-Helicon VoiceTone Synth HardTune & Vocoder Pedal Works for me!

By Sam

from Bowie, MD

All the autotune/hardtune and vocoder effect i needed in one neat effects pedal, absolutely effective and easy to use! This device is almost too easy to set up and use; i had a live gig and rigged this to a harmonizer, it was fabulous! Studio quality clarity and processing, right there on stage. People actually started looking around to find out if i had people singing with me. Highly recommended!

Save your $$$!!!

By Chris Carter

from Waldorf, MD

First, let me start off by saying the overall intention of this product is great. During the time in which my device was working (2 weeks) it performed just as expected. I also believe that in a rush to give consumers a device which would allow them to duplicate the "T-Pain" effect live, they failed to thoroughly troubleshoot the device. After extended use the presets would begin to automatically jump mid performance negatively effecting the vocals. After returning said device and exchanging for another I believed the problem to be over, but as soon as the device was removed from the plastic and plugged in for band practice, the same problem arised. I initially thought it to be an error of my own fault but after contacting TC Helicon Technical Support I was notified that both devices were indeed malfunctioning. I will retun mine tommorrow...auto-tune is on its way out anyway.

If your looking for a hard pitch correction for your singing this is the product for you i use it live all the time not once did it give me a problem i even asked the audience how they liked it and they loved it i really only use the hardtune feature but you can go extreme with this pedal this is better than the avp1 rackmount or any other autotune product

Voicetone Synth is GREAT

By Joon Cartier

from Killeen/Austin, TEXAS

The Voicetone Synth is the best piece of equipment I've purchased ever! The pedal is very easy to work, and the effects are outstanding. I've so far used it to complete my album and used it live. Haven't had a problem yet. Worth the buy, love the distortion, and the Hard Tune!! Some days I just feel like putting on a slow instrumental and singing my soul out with the TC Helicon Voicetone Synth. It makes me want more!!
