Overview

Like a personal audio engineer in a box, the VoiceTone T1 Single Adaptive Tone & Dynamics pedal helps bring out your best tone.

Adaptive EQ and Dynamics For Your Voice
VoiceTone T1 adapts studio-quality compression, de-ess and EQ to your individual voice to bring out your most exciting vocal tone. The multiband EQ compares your vocal frequencies to an ideal target and brightens and removes mud accordingly while the compressor works to keep your voice sounding smooth whether you're right on the mic or farther away.

As simple as plugging in your mic
Gaining access to the studio quality sounds and intelligent processing of the VoiceTone T1 is as simple as plugging in your mic and turning the effect on. Of course, you can always change the style or the amount of effect.

Strong family genes
The TC-Helicon VoiceTone Singles series includes four vocal processing pedals, each with a single mission - to allow any vocalist to deliver jaw-dropping performances. VoiceTone Singles are the ultimate combination of tone and simplicity. Each of the four effects has inherited algorithms from the award-winning VoiceLive 2, so although VoiceTone Singles come in small packages they deliver a big sound.

You have to know what it is...

By Dwane Woodard

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single T1 Adaptive Tone & Dynamics:

There appears to be a lot of confusion about what this is, and what this does. When I received it, I hooked it up to my dynamic mic and my PA, turned it on/off and COULD NOT tell the difference. I took it to my studio with the same mic - only then could I begin to hear the differences. Once I understood the differences, I could take it back to my PA and hear the differences. Here's what this does well, IMHO 1) Reduces the need for parametric EQ when recording vocals. For almost all the vocal types that I tried, this does a good job of setting the vocals so they fit well in the mix. 2) Compression - this does a VERY GOOD job of setting up compression so you don't have to dial it in. It nicely pulls up notes sung off axis and subtly squashing things sang too loud. This piece has defintely found a place in my studio.

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single T1 Adaptive Tone & Dynamics:

since tc helicon split up their line to enjoy each effect and its full potential, it has been only a good choice for simple floor pa support, giving great body and delivery. i also own the voice doubler and it too brings out your best. a great piece for my armory....have tried others, many, and for the price they have it down.

Comments about VoiceTone Single T1 Adaptive Tone & Dynamics:

I have a small PA set up (Mackie ProFX board, QSC K12s, Shure Beta58s) that I use mostly for my acoustic guitar duo. We play in noisy restaurants where vocals can get buried but I get dirty looks if we are too loud. I was researching compressors to try to limit peaks (the singer can get quite loud in certain ranges) while also adding clarity to quieter passages. I really didn't want to lug a piece of rack gear around and knew that I could easily make the vocals sound artificially squashed if I didn't know what I'm doing (I don't). I'm pretty sure that no professional sound guy would want something so simplistic but, for musicians mixing themselves, this little pedal is easy to carry to gigs and appears to offer the most commonly used compression ratios and EQ for vocals - and at a fraction of the cost of rack gear. The effect is very subtle but it absolutely evened out the vocal volume and applied the perfect EQ by removing some muddiness and practically eliminated the proximity effect.

On a side note: The pedal labels one knob as "compression/de-essing" -with compression increasing as the knob is turned counterclockwise and de-essing increasing as the know is turned clockwise. This seems a bit dubious since adding compression naturally increases problems with sibilance. Backing off the compression is a way of "de-essing" in a manner of speaking. This seems like a way to make the pedal seem more feature laden than it really is. That little rant aside, this is a great pedal and probably the most useful in the TC Helicon VoiceTone series.
