Overview

Natural harmony sound, ease of use and now, ultimate affordability are yours in VoiceTone H1. Pros and hobbyists alike can achieve fuller-sounding vocal performances with this sturdy vocal harmony pedal.

Guitarist/singers can take advantage of H1²s uncanny guitar-sensing ability to keep your harmonies in tune. For non-guitarists, H1 has a key selector so you can dial-in harmonies that fit lots of songs.

As simple as plugging in your mic
Gaining access to the studio quality sounds and intelligent processing of VoiceTone singles is as simple as plugging in your mic and turning the effect on. Of course, you can always change the style or the amount of effect, but you shouldn't need to unfold the manual unless you're making a fire.

Strong family genes
Each VoiceTone single shares the same genes: a clean, quiet mic preamp that rivals high-end touring mixers, a die-cast metal case, rubberized no-slip base, studio quality analog to digital conversion, and the same quality processing you'd expect from our flagship vocal processors like VoiceLive 2.

All new Mic Control feature
The revolutionary and patent pending Mic Control circuit is built into each VoiceTone single pedal. This allows TC-Helicon's MP-75 (our sku# H70845) Modern Performance Vocal microphone˜s thumb switch to turn your VoiceTone single's effect on and off. Picture having the freedom to kick-in your vocal effect while working the stage, not gazing at your feet. It gets really cool when you chain multiple VoiceTone singles pedals together and control each one independently or turn them all on or off in combination.

Being a solo acoustic guitar act, Iۡve always thrown a little delay and reverb on my vocals. Iۡve looked at harmonizers and even tried a few of the inexpensive ones. I concluded that you need to spend $400+ to get a gig quality productۡ_..Wrong! The H1 produces quality harmonies at a very good price. What they did to keep the price down was to limit the options to 2 voices and only 3rds and 5ths. This limitation also is one of itsۡ strong points. The H1 is simple to use right out of the box. Do you want harmonies above, below, or both? Turn the center dial and play. How much of the harmony do you want to show through? Turn the right knob and play. If you are a guitar player, thatۡs all the setup youۡll ever need. For you vocal only people, you will need to tell it what key youۡre in by setting the left knob. What kind of harmoniesۡ_ country, 50ۡs, darker alternative rock, church, folk. The 7th is not available so you wonۡt get a perfect tone for songs like Johnny B Goode or Your Momma Donۡt Dance. However, if you like the warm harmonies of the Eagles, Beatles, or Everly Brothers this is for you. Itۡs housed in a sturdy metal box. One minor issue is it only runs on 12 volts from a wall wart. Many pedal boards are set up for common 9 volts Another issue will be harmony selection changes between songs. If itۡs being used as a pedal, the change knobs are also sitting on the ground. If you set it up so it can be reached between songs, you canۡt use your foot to turn it on and off. I may need to order my gig song selections to limit the number of changes. Value 5 Stars, Quality 5 Stars, Features 4 Starsۡ_ۡ_ I showed mine to friend. He now has one.

much better

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

I bought the H1 as a replacement for the TC Helicon Harmony G which I've been using for about 2 years. The Harmony G has a few more features but also a few problems which made it difficult to use for live performances. I was never able to figure out how to store harmony settings on the G. Also, the footswitch for turning the harmonies on and off was too close to the switch for changing settings. I was constantly changing settings in the middle of a song. The H1 eliminates that problem having only one footwsitch. Choosing harmonies is simply a matter of turniing the dial to the variation you want. Nothing to save. Just dial it in. Although the H1 has no effects (like the Harmony G does), it really doesn't matter since I have those effects on my PA. In short, the simplicity and low cost of the H1 make it a winner.

Harmony/A - Engineering/C+

By Marz

from Barrington, IL

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

Easy to use, quality sounds and the unit looks like it can take a beating. I would have preferred that the red "on" light be positioned above the dials. This pedal is used differently than a normal guitar pedal. During a song you might be switching from single voice to harmony many times just during a chorus. Where the red light is positioned, your foot ends up covering the light, and you don't know if the harmony is engaged or not. Also, would have preferred to have a more comfortable angle of the on/off button. Clumsy when used often. But...I think it's worth the purchase.

Almost perfect

By Rick

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

The H1 sounds great and I am glad I purchased it. A few tweeks and it would be perfect. If it had a footswitch you could push and play a note to set the key a bass could set the key without turning a knob everytime. The footswitch should be normally off and add the harmony only when pushed then off when you take your foot off. The angle of the footswitch allows your foot to turn the knobs when you activate the switch (which you have to do once for on and then again for off). Good solid unit but you have to keep an eye on it!

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

I bought this to be a back up for my Helicon GX-T, but find that at home I tend to use this pedal more (recordings etc.) The GXT is very much more versatile adding subtle Guitar effects as well as voice effects, but the H1 is just flat out easy to use. Practice to establish the dial settings that suite you best before you go out on stage as the harmony's sounds are tweaked by the two main controls.

This particular model does not allow for major and minor keys. It is possible to make adjustments but they do not always work. Practice with it will make it a very good addition to any band.

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

A super addition to my vocals. I play accordion and sing. The only suggestion I would make is to add a jack for a foot switch so I could have the unit in a place where I can adjust the 3 knobs without bending over and still operate the on off switch with my foot. If anyone has figured out how to do this I would appreciate their help,

Comments about TC Helicon VoiceTone Single H1 Intelligent Harmony:

What a great pedal -so easy to use. I have used harmony pedals before. This one is easy, no guesswork, and sounds great. As I am currently playing bass in a rock band, I had to have one that you set the key, since you seldom hit the third on the downbeat. Also see many hours of fun ahead using this with my acoustic. I also like the fact that the on/off foot pedal button is momentary contact, as I want to mount this on my mic stand.
      Yes, I would recommend.
