No matter if you're a seasoned professional singer, or if you're just at the start of your career, the VoiceLive Play from TC Helicon will deliver impacting results that will not only enhance your performance, it will boost your confidence level too. With a host of professional features like harmony and pitch correction, sing along, and a very useful practice mode, the VoiceLive Play will have you sounding your best in no time. The unit is compact in size compared to the other VoiceLive units, but it still packs the same power and professional results.
Sound like the pros
You can have instant and incredibly, intuitive access to vocal effects that come straight from our VoiceLive range. Featuring automatic backing harmonies, vocal double tracking, pristine EQ and compression, lush reverbs, hard-tuned robo-voice, the list goes on - all of the goose-bumps-on-your-arms effects that make today's billboard hit vocals "pop".
Perfect Harmonies & Correction
VoiceLive Play listens to your music. Using Auto Key technology it senses and adapts to your MP3 recordings using the aux input or the built in RoomSense microphones so that harmonies and pitch correction fit perfectly with your music.
Pick a Genre, any Genre
The Genre function is there to help you browse the massive palette of 200+ vocal presets in VoiceLive Play. Press the Genre button and search by music genre or effect type. If you've never used effects before, you'll quickly learn how to find the sound you're looking for using this method.
Make It a Hit
HIT is a performance-inspired feature for building intensity into any vocal performance. Every preset has a base level effect that you can build upon by pressing the HIT button that adds effects on top. For example, you could start with a simple reverb and tight doubling then select the "HIT" feature in the chorus to add harmonies and a megaphone - all from one preset.
Practice makes Perfect
Use PRACTICE to bring up an intelligent pitch display and your singing stats. Then you will be able to monitor your performance in real-time to see what notes you're hitting too sharp, and which ones you're coming up a bit flat on. As you improve, you'll notice your accuracy score getting better.
Plug in and practice using the Vocal Cancel function and your MP3 player. You can then record and play back your singing using the USB connection to your computer.
The VLOOP performance looper allows you to create a loop instantly, so you can have an astounding layered effect with the ability to turn effects on and off, creating a completely unique performance.
A Good Set of Ears
Embedded stereo RoomSense mics can control your harmonies from instruments nearby, replace the cabled mic for headphone practice or add a bit of room ambience to your headphone mix.
TC-Helicon's adaptive tone technology intelligently controls Shape EQ and Dynamics (Compression & De-ess) to provide the perfect tonal balance and add smooth dynamic control to fit in any mix. Best of all it's easy - just set and forget. An adaptive gate can also be added to help suppress feedback and reduce bleed.

I had a voicelive 2 but it was a little complex to program. This unit sounds JUST AS GOOD and is much easier to use. In less then 30 minutes I had all my vocal presets ready. GREAT PRICE EASY TO USE SOUNDS AMAZING. If you're a vocalist and want to control your own effect's get this unit NOW ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 10 STARS ********** Because 5 Is Not Enough.
Since I am deployed in Afghanistan right now, I ordered this and had it sent here to try it out, while the PA System I ordered goes to the house. I was blown away. I ordered the VLP a mic and a cable. With my IPOD and my Bose headphones, I can hear how clear thge vocals and the opportunities this machine offers. I cannot wait to get back to the States and plug this into my PA System. I have already recorded vocals to a couple tracks out here by connecting VLP to my laptop. I am limited while I am deployed, but it is allowing me time to toy around and learn more about what this can actually do. I know there are better more expensive toys out there, but starting out, trying to get affordable things for a home studio... this is more than enough for helping out your vocal sound. SSG Hickson
You can buy 3 or 4 pedals for the same effects that this one pedal does. Not to mention the preset song downloads and the ability to create your own on an original. I use the MP75 TC HELICON Mic. The mic and pedal are a match made in heaven. I run my vocals through the Fender Passport Pro 300 PA System with the Peavey PV118D Powered Subwoofer. It handles all the sounds of this pedal...
Great gadget. Works as advertised and maybe then some. Easy to follow intructions and even easier to use on the job. It will have several uses in our musical household. I will use for my saxophone gigs with other bands and my wife will use it for her vocals at our gigs. Although I just got the little blue box, I am very happy but still have a lot to learn. The main features I had interest in are the harmonizer for the horn and the doublers and reverb/delays for vocals. There are plenty of FXs to go around still exploring. Too soon to tell about long term quality but it appears and feels like the real deal. Looking forward to many years of use.
Overall I'm very happy with the device. It is solidly built and extremely easy to use and program. The controls are logically laid out and it's got all the inputs and outputs that I need. I do have some things I don't like. Primarily that there isn't very fine grained control - especially over the core tone. It's designed to be "easy" to use, so all of the settings are very basic/shallow and rely on the presets. The overall sound quality is great, and like with most things, the effects sound good when used in moderation. Many of the harmony and other effects tend to "sound" like effects when it's just you in a room singing - there is a "digital" sound that's obvious you're voice is being processed. For some of the effects this makes sense because they are supposed to be extreme (T-Pain style auto-tune, alien and robot voices) but for others it's distracting. When playing with a full band this isn't as noticeable since the natural reverb of a room or club masks it. Because of this, it would only be useful in a live environment, not in the studio which makes sense having the word "Live" in it's name and all :) More about limitations: According to the manual, you can set tone on each patch/preset as an "effect", but there is no such configuration page in the settings (the manual says there are eight effects, but there are actually only seven - the missing one being Tone). I updated the firmware to the latest version, but it's still not there. For overall tone you don't have any kind of EQ, gate, or compression settings - just a handful of presets, which is disappointing. The advertising leads you to believe that the ambient mics will pick up the sound from the stage and atomatically set the key for harmony and auto tune effects. While this is true, it is limited to a single instrument being close to the unit; ie: it's not going to work sitting on the ground in fron of you with the whole band playing, it would need to be close to a single guitar amp, or keyboard. Since it takes aux in, this is kind of useless. It is isn't a big deal, really, but a let down. I primarily play bass in my band and do background vocals, so it doesn't really apply to me. Definitely worth the money, and some of my gripes may be fixed with future software updates. Depending on your needs, some of the other pedals in the line may be more appropriate. Even with the limitations, this is perfect for a lead singer, or a backup singer like me who isn't doing solo performance with a guitar or keyboard.
I got this to go with some powered speakers (DXR8's by Yamaha - best sound quality I've heard in actives...) as a lightweight vocals + tracks PA system. I must have sung for 3 hours the first evening I got it, just playing with presets and then creating presets to go with my original material. The auto-tune, reverb, compression, eq, etc. could not have been made easier. Seriously. Vocal looper - awesome bonus that I actually will use. Custom named presets + a "hit" button for my big choruses... couldn't be easier. If you're the only singer in a simple PA setup, this is a no brainer. You can dial in BEAUTIFUL doubling, harmonies (be sure to turn 'em down a bit in the mixer portion of this pedal...) Just awesome. For the price of two TC singles, this pedal just RULES. p.s. the vocal cancelling features let you hook your ipod up and get instant karaoke tracks... and yes that worked like a champ, too.
