Overview

Perhaps no one has done more for quality onstage vocal processing than TC Helicon, but what about that all-important first link in the signal chain? TC has answers with the MP-75 Modern Performance Vocal Microphone with Mic Control. This is what every singer deserves: a microphone engineered for the sonic realities of modern vocal performance and simple one button control of TC-Helicon vocal effects. You'd expect nothing less from the only pro audio company 100% dedicated to the needs of singers.

Another microphone?
Does the world really need yet another vocal microphone? In TC Helicon's opinion no-it just needs one really good one. One designed for today, where the advent of singers using studio quality vocal processing on stage has transformed live vocal performance. Singers are demanding more control. The effects used by modern vocalists require off-axis noise rejection and frequency response that the majority of dynamic instrument microphones repurposed for singers just can't deliver. TC-Helicon MP-75 delivers.

Superior Vocal Tone
The proprietary Lismer capsule design uses a patented neodymium magnet structure for high output and uniform performance. The placement of the super-cardioid capsule provides best in class off-axis noise rejection and feedback suppression. In addition, a dual-material diaphragm with light and rigid sections produces optimal high frequency response. If you're making use of the latest in vocal processing, this microphone can help give your sound that studio-produced edge.

Singers have the ultimate location for control right in their hands

On the microphonethat's where singers want to control their sound. This is what makes TC-Helicon unique among all the microphone brands on the market. TC Helicon is devoted to singers and takes your input seriously. You've been unanimous in how you want to extend the control for your vocal effects. You want a simple way to creatively control your sound in performance without being tied to one place on the stage. Now, TC-Helicon's patent pending Mic-Control circuit allows simple, single button control of all of TC-Helicon's USB enabled vocal processors, including VoiceLive 2 (#580324), VoiceLive Touch (#486066), VoiceTone Singles (H70273), Harmony-G XT (584276), Create XT (#485434) and Synth (#583674).

So what are you going to do with all this control?
When you're setup and singing with MP-75 and your USB-enabled TC-Helicon vocal processor*, you'll have the freedom to move around the stage while controlling your vocal sound.

VoiceLive Touch and VoiceLive 2: remote control of the single-button looper or any Shortcut in VoiceLive 2.

VoiceTone Harmony-G XT: turn your harmonies on and off for the verse or chorus.

VoiceTone Create XT: bypass the effects when it's time to talk to the audience.

VoiceTone Synth: add the HardTune or Vocoding effect on single words or phrases with ease.

VoiceTone Singles: chain the pedals together and set up Mic Control to turn HardTune and Doubling on and off - leaving your reverb and tone settings unchanged for example.

*may require free firmware update.

Designed for singers
TC-Helicon's modern performance vocal microphones are not multipurpose microphones. They are designed and voiced for the realities of live performance. Whereas many vocal microphones get their target frequency response several inches away from the capsule, MP-75 and its brother MP-70 are voiced for the close-up mic technique modern vocalists use. Singers also expect a rugged design built for live performance. MP-75 uses a special heat-treated and hardened steel windscreen grill to provide up to 10 times the durability of non-hardened grills.

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

Okay, Love MF, but I bought this earlier somewhere else that was blowing these out, skeptical but curious, it was cheap enough to take a chance. Combined with a TC Helicon device such as Mic Mechanic, this is simply the best sounding mic I have ever used in 40 years of performing, and that is saying something. That old cliche about taking the blanket off of your sound never applied so accurately, the clarity of this mic is beyond belief. I am a singer who has performed all over the world to thousands of people, so I don't need something to mask my bad vocals, though this might work for that with the right TC Helicon vocal effects box in the chain. I find I am singing better than ever with this mic, can hear little nuances of my vocal lines I never heard before, enabling me to create more interesting phrasing live or live in the studio. Love this thing. It is cheaper now since TC Helicon released an updated version with more buttons. I only need the one button to take the effect off when talking to the audience, and that works great. Used it without the TC Helicon effects box too, still good, but with the Mic Mechanic, get ready to blow your mind. It's less than half of original price now, an outrageous bargain in my book.

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

The tight pattern on this mic makes other TC-Helicon products work great! I use the harmony function on my Play Acoustic. Background noise or floor monitors will cause the harmonies to malfunction and "warble" or go off key. This mic really reduces that but for that reason you have to work it close. Get right up on the mic.

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

This is a really great live microphone. It gets a very clear sound and is designed to be sung with mouth in closer proximity (which is how most people sing live these days). The response pattern is tighter so that it avoids feedback on loud stages very well. I prefer it to an SM58, as we've compared them directly at our church. Some are confused by the button on it if they don't have any of the TC Helicon pedals it can work with, but it has no adverse affect if pressed when not connected to a pedal. I have used it with the Mic Mechanic pedal, and the button functions well with that. However, I've found it just as good and usable with no pedals. I was shocked at the lowered price through Guitar Center, as everywhere else had it for $100 more. It's a steal at the lower price. Just get it and thank me later. I just got another for my sister, who sings live in a cover band, and an extra for our church. I wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't a great mic.
