VoiceWorksPlus has all of the features you need to make your vocals shine brighter. It builds on the success of its predecessor, VoiceWorks, with an updated list of features including fourth generation TC-Helicon harmony technology, voice modeling, and the Transducer and iMod (micromod) blocks from VoicePro.
The quiet Burr Brown-based mic preamp, transparent pitch correction, TC Helicon reverb, delay, and dynamics algorithms from VoiceWorks round out its capabilities. Whether you're playing live gigs with a MIDI sequencer for backup or recording songs in your studio, VoiceWorksPlus offers high quality vocal processing options and advancess allowing you to realize the perfect vocal sound you're looking for.
4th Generation harmony Many of the advancements are in the "humanization" of the harmony voices. TC Helicon added new parameters and broke out former group settings into individual voice settings:
- Each harmony voice now has unique portamento and pitch-smoothing values for better separation - Unique humanization style and amount settings per voice allow quicker edits - Added energy (volume) level randomization per voice to better mimic group dynamics - Any voice can be designated as a doubling voice in all harmony modes - Controlling harmonies with MIDI is easier and more realistic sounding than ever - Automatic note extension keyed on lead voice duration for smoother notes mode response - "Fussy" chord mode allows you to play runs and chords while controlling harmonies in chord mode - Scale mode MIDI override offers quick-solution tonon-scale input notes without editing - Increased portamento accuracy - All new, more realistic harmony vibrato styles - Improved voice allocation in notes mode increases pan and gender stability with wide-panned voices - Harmony hold update allows MIDI performance of sustained phonemes - Hold/Notes mode ADSR envelope with randomization creates synth-like performance from a vocal part

We purchased this processor for use in our church to provide backing vocals for our worship leader. We are controlling it with the TC-Helicon Harmony Control for Guitar. The controller seems to work very well. We have only been using the processor for a week and there is still a lot to learn.
The processor is easy to use. The presets work for the most part. I found that it wasn't hard to overload the front end of the processor, so watch your input levels. We have our processor fed from an aux out on our GL3300 console, which can have a very hot output, causing distortion. A simple crank of the aux level knob and the problem is under control.
The harmonies work nicely when used in moderation. I found several that worked right out of the box. The vocal overdubs are right on. Once you get used to the control methods, it is very easy to tweak the settings. When we turned on a low male overdub for the first time, it was fun to watch the heads swivel, trying to locate the singer.
I haven't messed with many of the effects yet. We found that too many effects can muddy the live mix, so for right now, we turn the effects for the harmonies off. We will play with them more later.
The manual for this processor is very good, unlike some of the other TC manuals.
Give the box a whirl - You will definitely have fun doing it.
I was reluctant to buy this due to the price. BUT___Let me say it's worth every penny. Easy to navigate and there is so much there if you need it. The preset's are not just a bunch of useless preset's of marsian voices either. The manual is well written and for someone who is anxious to get going and run with new gear this was very rewarding. If your not doing studio work, you will probably want the foot switch. This is really a top notch rack and I hate to say it (for my voice anyway) but the pitch correction is amazing and easy to use. You can plug your midi kybd in or select the key/root/etc.. on the unit to set harmonies. I have midi kybd but I am a gtr player and just setting the right key does wonders. Can't say enough, my recordings have gone from ok to amazing. Harmonies can be tailored in so many ways. Has a pre-amp on it but never used as I like the features bundled with the one I have for my condensor mic. If you can spare the cash, you won't be disappointed for harmonies, pitch correction and effects.
