The essentials for killer vocal harmonies in a simple to use stompbox.

Natural harmony sound, ease of use and now, ultimate affordability are yours in VoiceTone H1. Pros and hobbyists alike can achieve fuller-sounding vocal performances with this sturdy vocal harmony pedal.

Guitarist/singers can take advantage of H1â?²s uncanny guitar-sensing ability to keep your harmonies in tune. For non-guitarists, H1 has a key selector so you can dial-in harmonies that fit lots of songs.

As simple as plugging in your mic
Gaining access to the studio quality sounds and intelligent processing of VoiceTone singles is as simple as plugging in your mic and turning the effect on. Of course, you can always change the style or the amount of effect, but you shouldn't need to unfold the manual unless you're making a fire.

Strong family genes
Each VoiceTone single shares the same genes: a clean, quiet mic preamp that rivals high-end touring mixers, a die-cast metal case, rubberized no-slip base, studio quality analog to digital conversion, and the same quality processing you'd expect from our flagship vocal processors like VoiceLive 2.

All new Mic Control feature
The revolutionary and patent pending Mic Control circuit is built into each VoiceTone single pedal. This allows TC-Helicon's MP-75 (our sku# H70845) Modern Performance Vocal microphoneâ??s thumb switch to turn your VoiceTone single's effect on and off. Picture having the freedom to kick-in your vocal effect while working the stage, not gazing at your feet. It gets really cool when you chain multiple VoiceTone singles pedals together and control each one independently or turn them all on or off in combination.

Being a solo acoustic guitar act, I?ve always thrown a little delay and reverb on my vocals. I?ve looked at harmonizers and even tried a few of the inexpensive ones. I concluded that you need to spend $400+ to get a gig quality product?..Wrong! The H1 produces quality harmonies at a very good price. What they did to keep the price down was to limit the options to 2 voices and only 3rds and 5ths. This limitation also is one of its? strong points. The H1 is simple to use right out of the box. Do you want harmonies above, below, or both? Turn the center dial and play. How much of the harmony do you want to show through? Turn the right knob and play. If you are a guitar player, that?s all the setup you?ll ever need. For you vocal only people, you will need to tell it what key you?re in by setting the left knob. What kind of harmonies? country, 50?s, darker alternative rock, church, folk. The 7th is not available so you won?t get a perfect tone for songs like Johnny B Goode or Your Momma Don?t Dance. However, if you like the warm harmonies of the Eagles, Beatles, or Everly Brothers this is for you. It?s housed in a sturdy metal box. One minor issue is it only runs on 12 volts from a wall wart. Many pedal boards are set up for common 9 volts Another issue will be harmony selection changes between songs. If it?s being used as a pedal, the change knobs are also sitting on the ground. If you set it up so it can be reached between songs, you can?t use your foot to turn it on and off. I may need to order my gig song selections to limit the number of changes. Value 5 Stars, Quality 5 Stars, Features 4 Stars?? I showed mine to friend. He now has one.

  • much better

I bought the H1 as a replacement for the TC Helicon Harmony G which I've been using for about 2 years. The Harmony G has a few more features but also a few problems which made it difficult to use for live performances. I was never able to figure out how to store harmony settings on the G. Also, the footswitch for turning the harmonies on and off was too close to the switch for changing settings. I was constantly changing settings in the middle of a song. The H1 eliminates that problem having only one footwsitch. Choosing harmonies is simply a matter of turniing the dial to the variation you want. Nothing to save. Just dial it in. Although the H1 has no effects (like the Harmony G does), it really doesn't matter since I have those effects on my PA. In short, the simplicity and low cost of the H1 make it a winner.

  • Almost perfect

As reviewed by Rick on 8/21/2011

The H1 sounds great and I am glad I purchased it. A few tweeks and it would be perfect. If it had a footswitch you could push and play a note to set the key a bass could set the key without turning a knob everytime. The footswitch should be normally off and add the harmony only when pushed then off when you take your foot off. The angle of the footswitch allows your foot to turn the knobs when you activate the switch (which you have to do once for on and then again for off). Good solid unit but you have to keep an eye on it!
