NEW REVIEW - Great little box

I bought this to replace the old digitech vocalist VR I had. The Harmony M works for the type of music I play provided its done tastefully. I use this lightly mostly on choruses. When I'm not using the harmony M I still feed my vocal through it to take advantage of the compression and tone shaping features. In fact I'm probably using the tone features now more than the harmony. When I'm on stage its all about simplicity and what works with the least amount of hassle.TC Helicon got it right for live performance and simplicity of operation. I have no need for a foot switch. The Harmony-M sits on top of my keyboard and I simply hit the switch with my hand when needed.

Impressive

I gambled on this unit with little hope of achieving what I really wanted; rich harmony parts w/o sounding like a chipmonk that are true to key and chord structure, simple stupid programming, ability to change settings quickly during live performances. This was the missing link in a band void of vocal harmonies. Optional footswitch is a must. Also a great studio tool. This is one of those toys that won't end up in the closet collecting dust like so many others that didn't live up to the hype.

Disappointed

TC Helicon should go back to the drawing board on this one! Fun to play around with but not for live performance. Would be great for recording individual tracks. Too sensitive to background noise which alters harmony. Very difficult to get harmonies to sound natural. Wish I had returned for refund within time limit. Oh well, live and learn.

A great addition for the solo performer

This pedal went beyond my expectations. It provides very good Harmonies and really good control over my voice in general. The learning curve is easy, very simple to understand how it works. I wish they could make this pedal work with newer MIDI over USB keyboards or a converter box for them. I had to dig an older keyboard with MIDI output to use it, but worth the trouble. The extra pedals to use it as a desk console are a must! I didn't buy them but I can see now how convenient they are. All in all, this pedal is a great investment.
