Overview

Skysurfer Reverb is the one-stop solution to all of your basic reverb needs. Whether you want to dive into deep splashy oceans or ride the ambient airwaves above, Skysurfer lets you do it via its three high-quality reverb algorithms, all housed in a sturdy and compact pedal that won’t break the bank.

No Compromise On Quality
A lot of budget-friendly reverb pedals simply destroy your core tone when the effect is on. Skysurfer doesn’t! Built on a superb studio-quality algorithm, Skysurfer will give you all the lush and transparent reverb sounds you could ever want, without ever compromising your original tone. Finally a reverb pedal that’ll do good things for your wallet and your tone.

Colors In Space
Skysurfer sports three versatile reverb algorithms that’ll add just the perfect amount of color and space around your notes. Spring gives you all the drippy, splashy goodness of an old spring reverb tank, great for a full-on Dick Dale surf attack. Whereas Room and Hall will let you take your tone from earthy and organic to interstellar spaceflight.

Reverb Real Estate
We’re musicians just like you, and we know that it can be an uphill battle to fit all the pedals you want on a pedalboard with limited space. Pro tip: a solid game of Tetris every day will make you a pedalboard planning champ. But to make the game a little easier on you, we decided to put top-mounted I/Os in Skysurfer, so cables won’t rob you of any space where it matters the most.

Backstage Pass – All Access
A sweet trifecta of reverberating tones available in one easy to use pedal. Let’s have a look at the ins and outs of Skysurfer Reverb

Decay For Days
This determines how long the reverb lasts. Set it low for a quick and sweet splash or max it and hang on to the reverberating moment almost forever.

Master The Mix
This controls how loud the reverb is. Set it low for some subtle ambience or crank it for a more obvious and explosive reverb tone.

Take Me To Tone
This controls the amount of high frequencies in the reverberated signal. Go counter-clockwise for a dark and dampened reverb tone, or go fully clockwise for a more intense and bright sound.

Relish In Reverb
Choose between three high-quality reverb algorithms. Spring, Room or Hall.

True To You
Nobody messes with your tone but you. It’s that simple! Hence, Skysurfer sports True Bypass, so when it’s off, it’s really off and has zero impact on your core tone.

First off, I'm a big fan of TC Electronic. If I can get a TC pedal, I will over most other brands. Their modulation (reverb, delay, chorus, etc.) effects are second-to none-in their price range.

I needed a new reverb pedal. The reverb on my amp and my multi-effect just wasn't really cutting it. I needed it mainly for church, but also for my band for soloing and our more ballady songs. I needed something that could give a very light, but noticeable tone, but could also give me some really ambient swells. I really wanted to get the Hall of Fame, also from TC Electronic and one of the best, most versatile reverb pedals on the market. But I just couldn't bring myself to shell out that much money for a reverb pedal. When I heard about TC's new line of more affordable effects, I was immediately interested in the Skysurfer reverb.

I have to say, this new line from TC is fantastic. Don't let the price tag fool you; these are not cheap pedals. The box itself is sturdy and built to last. They're extremely affordable, worth much more than their price, and you still get that high-quality TC Electronic sound.

The Skysurfer has a very transparent, natural-sounding tone that doesn't color your signal too much. It has a Spring, Plate, and Hall setting, so the diversity of tone is absolutely there. The mix has a really high ceiling and can get absolutely insane when turned all the way up, and it has decay for days. I absolutely love the way it interacts with my overdrive to create this really full sound that is perfect for lead lines.

My one major con would the actual size of the box. It is a little bulky and takes a little more real estate on a pedalboard than your traditional TC Electronic or even a Boss pedal. However, it does have top-mounted input/output and power, so it does attempt to make up for its larger footprint.

Purchased this at a local Guitar Center prior to official release date to replace my old EH Holier Grail that finally died on me. I play in a church, so there wasn't any excessive stomping or throwing around of this pedal. Worked fine the first Sunday. During practice the following week, pedal stopped working when it was on, before finally killing the signal altogether even when off. Tested the battery to see that it was still around 70% life. Tried it again practicing at home with a new battery only for it to cut out after about five minutes. Will be returning, as it is useless if it does not work.

Great for subtle reverb

By Angel

Comments about TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb Effect Pedal:

This reverb when mixed all the way wet is just too much. Who uses that much reverb though? I like to keep it around 20% on the mix. From there everything sounds really good. This thing will help your leads pop out and sound great. This line of pedals is built to last. The pedals are a little big but you can push them together easily. Having top mounted jacks makes them easy to organize on a pedalboard.

Comments about TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb Effect Pedal:

Purchased new and after just 30 minutes of power-on and play, sound cuts out even with indicator lit. Deactivating it enables sound (with no reverb of course). Powering off & on restores reverb ability but still cuts out after a time. Strange that other reverb units that are advertised have numerous favorable reviews and this one had only one, yet touted and upsold by sales clerk as "something great".

Comments about TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb Effect Pedal:

When I heard about TC Electronic making a $50 reverb pedal, I was very interested to check it out. I already have a quality reverb or two, but I had to see if they could pull it off at this price. Well, the Skysurfer Reverb both does and doesn't "pull it off". First, it lacks a true "decay" control. The "Reverb" knob controls this somewhat, but mostly just makes it more washed out (and quickly). The "Mix" knob is like a blend between wet and dry signal. I think it actually has the most reverb at 12:00, and does some weird ghosting effects turned all the way up (playing only the reverberated signal and killing the dry signal altogether). To get anything resembling a traditional reverb sound, you need the top two knobs around 9:00 (or less). The "Hall/Plate/Spring" switch offers some different flavors, but seems more like a change to the EQ dynamics of the reverb rather than 3 completely different styles of reverb. I think I actually liked Plate the best, just because it's the most expressive. The Spring mode was a little disappointing, but again, it's cheap and it can be usable. And average reverb is arguably better than no reverb.

Comments about TC Electronic Skysurfer Reverb Effect Pedal:

Nothing about this pedal feels "cheap" except for the cost. All steal construction big, tight knobs, true bypass. Its that awesome. I use it as a simple reverb. I use an amp sim, so it doesnt have a built in reverb sound. It can get washy if you turn it up, or just ad a little bit to ad space.

I'm an old-school tube amp guy. From the spring Reverb of Vintage Fender amps this pedal is clear and clean but less noisy. I'm used to lexicon rack Reverb units. I really love their sounds and this little pedal does a great job of emulating that. This little pedal right before my vintage DR 102 adds a sweet and natural sound. And my app Translate all those frequencies and it sounds amazing. I love the color but the script above the knobs is white and difficult to see black would have been a better choice. Other than that I love this little guy. I have this behind a TC delay, and an old purple Ibanez. At this price it is a definitely affordable and I baby out anyone to my D-28 acoustic just to see how it sounds.

I actually own this pedal. I have a 15 watt tube amp with no built-in Reverb and I've been looking for an affordable pedal to add some Reverb for a couple years now. This Nails it. It's a brand name that I've heard of and Trust and it's less than a hundred bucks. When it's not active on my pedal chain it doesn't change the sound at all so you can keep it on your board if you're recording and adding Reverb later. If this one dies, ill buy again.

The Skysurfer is as it says a reverb pedal. It has three different Reverbs to choose from Spring, Plate, and Hall. I use this pedal through the effects loop of my Orange. No built in reverb on the amp leaves something to be desired. I mainly keep it on the Hall setting for those late 70's early 80's tones. The only issue I have ran into with this pedal is that it can be too much. Keeping more towards the left than the right. The parameter on the knobs are a little exaggerated. All in all a good pedal. Just sometimes less is better.
