TC Electronic's Nova Repeater is a 'no-frills-with-a-sound-that-kills' delay pedal. It's perfect for guitarists who want instant and unique results, without the fuss. It features the same great sound quality that made the Nova Delay the first choice delay pedal for Paul Gilbert, Doug Aldrich, Nils Lofgren, and Allen Hinds. However, after listening to the guitar-playing community TC Electronic trimmed out the excess baggage while also including additional features over the Nova Delay, and designed it all behind a streamlined and easy-to-use interface.
Nova Repeater is all about simplicity. There are no hidden features or complicated functions—you just get awesome delays in an affordable and easy-to-use guitar pedal. Yet it is also feature-rich being the only pedal in its price range that has a dedicated tap tempo switch and amazing audio tapping technology that lets you set the tempo with your playing. And with 6 types of TC-quality delays and an unsurpassed feature-set Nova Repeater is quite simply a bargain.
Nova Repeater has 3 delay time ranges labeled for both min, mid, and max positions. These delay times have been carefully chosen to match the sweet-spot times used by most guitar players, making it much easier for you to dial in the perfect delay time—even without a display.
The TC Electronic delay pedal features 2 inputs dedicated to instrument or line level signals which means you can use it equally well in front of your amp or in an effects loop. It also has a 'KillDry' switch that makes it possible to use the pedal in a parallel effect loop and is also great for guitar players who use a mixer to prevent their dry sound from being processed. An FX.level pot lets you adjust the wet level of your signal which means that you won't get annoying level drops on your dry sound—a common problem with other guitar effect pedals.
The TC Electronic Nova Repeater has a multifunction knob that lets you control the amount of modulation as well as turn the effect on/off. The chorus has been retuned making more dramatic modulation effects possible, and a vibrato mode has been added. This was a major request among Nova Delay users and makes it possible to emulate classic tape delay wow-and-flutter or create lush modulated pads with a volume pedal.
Again, taking on numerous user requests, TC Electronic added a dual delay—1/4 and 1/8 notes. This stereo delay is the secret behind Steve Lukather 80's sound—just make sure you set the delay time at exactly 400ms.
This TC Electronic effect pedal also features an adaptive dynamic delay that automatically sets the perfect threshold for the ducking. No calibration is needed—even if you decide to turn up the volume during a solo, Nova Repeater will automatically adjust the threshold on-the-fly.

Bought the Nova Repeater and had it shipped to the store. I printed the manual from online. I am very happy with the Repeater and it has all of the tweaks I have been looking for. The TC Repeater is a studio quality delay. Very happy with the product.
I have been playing guitar for 9 years and I am a commercial music major. I play several styles of music including contemporary rock and more jazzy clean styles as well. I am completely satisfied with this delay. Built great, Sounds great. Absolutely no noise when activated and the delays sound great and its easy to use, and I look forward to playing with it life. I like the sound!
If quality delay is your want and need, this ones' got it. If low cost for a very good multi-functional effect is your wish, this ones' got it. If tap tempo is a must to keep you smiling, this ones' got it. I needed all of these and got them all and more with this pedal. I did not think for the price I would be happy with the results. "How can you provide so much for so little?" I have only had the pedal a few weeks and it has been in the "live performance trenches" only twice in that period of time, but the Nova Repeater has been flawless in its' function and it looks so cool on my pedalboard. The Chorus and Vibrato knob can add some meat to your potatoes too! All I can hope for is long life in the pedal and I will have spent my money wisely. Thanks T.C.Electronics for thinking of the poor but hard-working musician. My inspiration has returned.
TC makes excellent delays. I bought this delay about 9 months ago, and I think it's great. The Repeater is full of options, but they are all very easy to control. The only thing it's missing is a preset list, but that can be easily found in the Nova Delay. The Repeater is kind of like the ND-1's little brother. I plan on getting the ND-1 soon, and having them both modified by Dan from This1smyne so they can share the same tap tempo. The Repeater has excellent modulation as well. The Vibrato is killer! I like this delay way better than the DD-7! Check it out for sure.
Went thru several delays looking for THIS sound. Really a nice sounding unit that makes perfect sense when using it. The dotted-eight delay is REALLY fun, by the way. Tap tempo is a must, too. It simply does everything I need, and does it quite nicely. Highly recommended.
I test-drove all the top delay pedals and found the Repeater to be the best for my needs. I run it through my amp's effects loop and it sounds pristine clean with no signal loss. The features are easy to use Live on the fly. Although there's no digital screen to pecisely dial in the milliseconds, it offers an onboard chart with nine delay settings. The dual delays are great to experiment with. I believe the Repeater is the best delay on the market for the price and I highly recommend it.
extremely innovative pedal. this delay's greatest strength is its features. with the many different types and divisions, it makes any sound achievable. there is only one flaw in the simplicity of this pedal-the 5 seperate knobs and buttons you can use to fine tune your sound are extremely useful, yet they spawn one necessary evil. making big adjustments on the fly in a live setting is a major pain. it would have been nice to add preset banks, like with the nova delay. this is the only reason i gave it 4, not 5 stars. even so, i still prefer this baby to the nova delay because you can fine tune your sound even further, and for cheaper at that. the tap tempo built in makes it much simpler than a pedal like the DD-7, where you have to jump through hoops, or even worse, buy an outboard pedal just to stay in time. though the audio tapping feature is admittedly cool, i've yet to find a practical use for it. overall, this delay is a great creative tool and one could spend hours just discovering all the different ways to make the different settings sound great. great pedal, and i'm definetly encouraged to look more at TC's product line.
simply put, any good guitarist knows the quality of t.c.'s products. Aside from the quality of the delays, and simplicity of use the non-tone degredation of thier products sells me on thier products. They have some "high-end" products I've never had the pleasure of playing through. But as a working class muscision, got to get whats affordable. Very nice price on this piece. My mesa mark Iv and the nova repeater in fx-loop is sound quality enough to go gig. But I like the slightest bit of chorus-delay-reverb on all the time and add more intense delay on solos.
Got this pedal about a week ago and it's just amazing. Everything is so easy use and understand. Much more affordable than the Nova Delay. Great pedal!
