Classic power metal, ultra-tight thrash or totally unleashed power, this pedal is your ultimate one-stop station for all things heavy.

The TC Electronic Röttweiler Distortion guitar effects pedal delivers an unparalleled sound that will inspire you to be shredding and riffing for days. In fact, Röttweiler Distortion has been designed specifically to capture the tone and feel of raw power that only a high-gain tube amp used to be able to deliver. The all-analog design features a unique distortion circuit based on soft clipping – just like real tube amps – which gives you an extremely authentic response and tone. Now, you can get that bone-crushing sound through virtually any amp by hooking up a Röttweiler Distortion.

Röttweiler Distortion is voiced to burn through any mix. A classic stompbox problem in this hardcore setting is a tendency to get lost in the mix. Röttweiler Distortion has been designed with live performances in mind – not just for home practicing, so you’ll never get lost in the mix!

Whether your ideal is power metal or tight-chugging thrash, the TC Electronic Röttweiler guitar effects pedal will deliver at the flick of a switch. The ‘Voice’ toggle switch allows you to choose between two midrange voicings that will take you from classic hard rock to full-on death metal instantly. Also, the two tone controls, Treble and Bass, let you fine-tune your guitar tone to whatever you need in a matter of seconds.

  • Nice pedal / Big sound

As reviewed by KYLE FERRIS on 7/18/2013

I have been playing for 20 plus years looking for a certain type of distortion this pedal hit my mark. This pedal did it rather well. The pedal gets a bad wrap just like the MXR Fullbore metal but this is due to setup and amp settings. For this pedal to show its true colors you have to play with it for quite a bit of time, that is why I gave it 4 stars. This pedal is high end quality and just like the rest of TC electronics pedals and effect rack units. One thing I will say if this pedal sucked so bad why would Jason Hook from Five Finger Death Punch use it to record their albums and use it in a live setting? Jason Hook also uses the G-Major 2 rack effects unit from TC, so does Zoltan Bathory. Features: They are very simplistic and easy to use . Another thing I would highly suggest with this pedal is getting something like the MXR Smart Gate, the pedal tends to go super sonic every once in awhile if you really start to get rough on your strings. TC Electronics does not mention this on their site but I did notice the pedal is reactive to your playing the harder the attack, the harder the distortion. Just my two cents for what it is worth.

  • Overspending

I will be quite honest here, this pedal is not that good for the price. Although it may be high gain, it doesn't have that push to get that modern day distortion. Although, this pedal can get some decent 80's thrash sound, and i mean early thrash such as Metallica's Kill Em' All or Slayer's Show No Mercy albums. Another thing to add is that this pedal is mainly made for rhythm players. I tried doing some solos here and there but to me it sounds too generic or too cheap. I was able to get better sounds (both rhythm and lead) on a digitech Death Metal pedal that i got used for $20. In conclusion, try this pedal before you even consider buying, there are many good dist. pedals out there way less than this.

TC gave this pedal the perfect name, why? Because it"s as noisy as a junkyard dog! enough said.
