With G-Natural multi-effect processor you no longer have to put your guitar sound in the hands of the sound engineer or to put up with effects designed for electric guitars to boost your performance. This guitar pedal from TC Electronic takes the construction of a hollow body acoustic guitar into account.
High quality effects for acoustic guitar
G-Natural houses a suite of high quality effects fine-tuned for acoustic guitar. It's all you will ever need to cut through to your audience: Compression, EQ, Boost, Modulation (Chorus, Detune, Thicken, Flange, Panner, etc.), Reverb and Delay.
Versatility
With both a built-in mic preamp and standard instrument inputs you can choose between using a piezo or pickup system or miking your guitar with a condenser mic. Or why not do both and mix the signals inside G-Natural to get the best of both worlds?
G-Natural acoustic guitar pedal comes with 30 factory settings optimized for a wide variety of musical genres and playing techniques. The 30 user customizable presets allow you to add that crucial personal touch to your sound.
G-Natural's mic pre can also be used for vocal performance. Just put G-Natural in song mode and you automatically get a separate vocal strip EQ and compressor block.
Topping an already packed feature list, a built-in tuner, digital I/O, expression pedal input and MIDI make G-Natural acoustic guitar pedal the number one multi-effects solution for the serious acoustic guitar player — all you need is a fresh set of strings, a load of killer tunes and you're good to go.

I bought this unit from GC online. I went against my better judgment of buying a piece of music gear without a first hand demo, but since none of the local Dallas stores had the item in stock this was only way to try it out. I own some of TC Electronics high end studio rack effects so the investment felt safe.
As an exclusive acoustic player of steel string and nylon string guitars I was very excited about this unit. I wanted to add some flavor and spice to my acoustic-electric rig mainly for the reverbs, modulation effects and signal processing.
After unpacking the G-Natural and booting it up I noticed that it was not running the latest software. I had to download the 1.03 version of the firmware and upload via the MIDI IN port. This process was very simple, fast and straight forward.
The first thing that I noticed upon hooking the device up was that it produced a very high pitched hiss from my Crate amplifier which was normally very quiet. I tried using different balanced and unbalanced cables which I specially purchased to use with the device. To no avail the hiss was annoying and way too prominent to use for recording. I plugged the unit into my soundboard and it still produced an unacceptable amount of noise. First major strike!
When I plugged in my Martin I began playing with the various effect edits some of which sounded pretty good. The factory presets were horrible so there was much tweaking to produce something useable.
After playing with the effects and reverbs, I then proceeded to check out the dry signal going back to my amp. This is where my frustrations really began. The wonderful acoustic tone and balance of my Martin was lost. I tried turning on and off the EQ and Gate and made several adjustments and could not shake off that awful coloring that reminded me of why I went all acoustic years ago. This unit is certainly not worth the $700 investment. For that price I had to return it.
Needless to say I was very disappointed with the G-Natural. This unit is no better than any other stomp box designed for electric guitars. I think TC Electronic has a good idea here and certainly the design concept has some merit. The unit is well engineered and constructed but the noisy hiss, tonal coloring of the dry signal and poorly written manual make the G-Natural more of a G Flat.

This is the worlds first acoustic multi-effects pedal!!!
I just got this last week and it has taken my live shows to a new level! Every time I step off stage someone asks, "How did you get that guitar tone" and I show them the G-Natural. It's a little pricey but any serious musician knows you get what you pay for, and this is no exception. I feel that I got my money's worth plus some!!!
