FireWire connection to and from your DAW with efficient routing and conversion between multiple digital formats and sample rates.
Digital Konnekt x32 is every studio's missing link, integrating digital equipment with computer-based recording setups. It is a utility product fitting the needs of project studios and other digital setups in need of a 'Swiss army knife" in digital signal handling. It features FireWire connection to and from your DAW, and it allows efficient routing and conversion between multiple digital formats and sample rates. The Digital Konnekt x32 interface also provides extra features such as analog outputs, scene recall, convenient monitoring and front panel lock.
All the tools in one toolbox
Up until now, the pro audio market has only seen single-function units such as format and sample rate converters, patchbays, and audio interfaces offering digital signal handling. Never before have these essential functions been incorporated into a single platform linking your entire fleet of digital devices to your DAW.
With Digital Konnekt and the Integrator plug-in, you can now fully utilize your trusted and favorite digital hardware tools within your DAW system. Featuring T.C.'s plug-in streaming technology, the Integrator plug-in (VST and AU) facilitates seamless integration of all external units with your recording setup; once connected, adding the unique sound of your most beloved digital external hardware unit is just a mouse click away. With the built-in latency roundtrip measuring feature and your DAWs latency compensation, your projects will not suffer from latency introduced by the external hardware either.
Tired of re-wiring over and over again? With Digital Konnekt x32, you connect your digital hardware once, make the wiring that fits your setup requirements, and you're good to go. All subsequent routing takes place from the front panel.
The x32 audio interface provides efficient format conversion between units using ADAT, SPDIF, TOS, and AES/EBU digital formats. Any input format can be converted into either of the listed formats and aligned to any sample rate ranging from 44.1kHz to 96kHz.
Two FireWire connections enable you to connect this audio interface to a computer. It streams 16 channels of audio to and from the computer, and is compatible with other T.C. Electronics audio interfaces.
The Integrator plug-in makes integration of external hardware into your DAW environment seamless. It offers a "plug-in" audio routing representation of your external hardware, e.g. Reverb4000, Finalizer, System6000, etc. Since Integrator operates like a normal VST/AU plug-in, it can be inserted on any track, as a send effect, or on the master output of your host application.
Integrator operates like a normal VST/AU plug-in, so it can be inserted on any track, as a send effect, or on the master output of your host application. It works with up to four Konnekt audio interfaces at a time, so if you have more interfaces, simply select the one that the external hardware is attached to. To setup the routing of Integrator is simple too. You only have to select the first audio channel. It will then figure out how to route the rest. For instance, if you have connected your external hardware to the S/PDIF 7+8, simply select S/PDIF 7.
With the calibrate feature, you can measure the latency of the entire signal chain from plug-in input to plug-in output, including the latency of the plug-in, the audio driver, the D/A and A/D converters, and the latency of the external hardware you use. You can see the total roundtrip latency, and the host application will automatically compensate for this latency. All with sample-accurate latency measurement.
Lastly, Integrator is able to generate a test signal to verify that your external hardware is routed correctly. The auto test signal mode will cycle between channels.
It also features clear send and return meter sections, and with the level controls, you can control the send and return levels individually.
Unique digital matrix style UI for direct selection of signals
Since all functions are assigned individual front panel buttons without underlying sub menus, Digital Konnekt x32 gives an instant overview of routing and offers intuitive and direct monitoring and operation.
8 channels of sample rate conversion on board for optimal digital adaption
In a digital setup without a sample rate converter, it is imperative that all units run by the same sample rate. Increasingly more project studios prefer to run their host application at 96kHz, a sample rate which lots of digital hardware doesn't support. Also, using devices that do not receive a digital signal - keyboards, synthesizers, cd/dvd players etc., is a challenge without sample rate converters. Not a problem with this interface. Its sample rate converters allow you to align units running at different sample rates ranging from 44.1kHz to 96kHz.
Analog outs (phone and balanced line) for monitoring
Analog stereo outs allow you to connect a set of monitor speakers. This is perfect when you use it as an audio interface, and together with the phones out, it easily lets you monitor each of the inputs individually.
JET technology ensures rock solid digital signal handling
The T.C.-developed DICE II chip, running Digital Konnekt x32's super stable clock, is based on JET (Jitter Elimination Technology). The combination is able to align all digital signals from external digital sources with extreme perfection. The great benefit of this is that all supported digital formats will be automatically aligned, thereby giving you maximum digital quality through and through.
