Pocket-sized chops builder.

TASCAM's MP-GT1 is the first MP3 player designed for musicians. Based on the award-winning CD-GT1mkII, this fun mobile guitar trainer includes enough memory to store up to 240 songs. Guitar parts can be slowed down, looped and even eliminated to help you learn new riffs. Play back MP3s using Variable Speed Audition, which slows down the speed without changing the pitch, and sections can be seamlessly looped while practicing tricky passages. Songs can even be pitched up or down to match the tuning of your guitar, so you don't have to re-tune for every song.

The guitar input lets you rock along with thick overdrive and multi-effects, including a guitar canceler so you can play along with your favorite bands. A tuner, metronome, and rechargeable battery are also built-in. All of this is packed into an MP3 player smaller than a stomp box, so stuff it in your backpack, gig bag or back pocket and hit the road.

The MP-GT1 uses a high-speed USB connection to load up MP3s and charge the built-in battery. Zip through your MP3 collection using a data wheel, dedicated buttons and a graphical LCD display. A rechargeable 9-hour lithium ion battery is built into the unit, and an optional power supply is also available.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • Went back to the CD version

As reviewed by Michael T on 10/19/2011

I really wanted this to be great, but it just wasn't. Lots of crashing, never could get a seamless loop, also the unit will download just about any file format, but will only work with mp3's so it kinda throws you off when you hook it up to your computer and open it like a flash drive, it will list everything you downloaded so you think you've got a song, but when you unplug it from your computer and are ready to use it with your guitar the song doesn't appear in the song list of the unit because its not an mp3. My original CD version of this was great but just stopped working one day. After playing with this new version and getting so frustrated with it I just opted to go and find the original.

  • MP-GT1 - Love Mine!

As reviewed by Mark Cusick on 11/3/2008

I'm surprised more people haven't rated this unit. It's a cool little device for practicing. Had it for over a year with NO problems (it locked up once but I just reset it). The effects are nice enough but I run mine through a Digitech RP200 for practice. Bought the protection plan with it, but so far no need for it (knock on wood). Mine actually shows a little over 1.5GB of memory. Plenty! More than my iPod Shuffle. Dumping songs into it is easy, especially since I mainly use MP3s anyway. I use it almost every night (sleeping family doesn't appreciate late-nite guitar practice). LOVE IT.

  • Tascam MP GT-1 Trainer

As reviewed by guitarwailer on 6/12/2007

I have to say first off, that while I have absolutely no hands on experience with this unit, I do own the original CD GT-1 and have found it to be very handy when learning songs (mainly because of it's portability and self containment), although the FX in the original are pretty cheesy sounding, (however, they get the job done) so unless Tascam has offered a significant improvement in the sound set, well..., one should consider the fact that you can spend a few more dollars for a BOSS Micro BR, complete with a phrase trainer w/ Mp 3 mode, that'll do everything this unit will do and a whole lot more, plus it offers great sounding BOSS FX, 4 playback tracks w/ 32 V tracks, rythum programming, and well.., check it out yourself and you can quickly determine where your money will be better spent!
