The T-Rex Octavius is a tri-tone generator with a perfect set of controls and a brilliant BOOST function. Octavius gives you everything you could want in octave generation-plus incredible T-Rex tone.
Octavius lets you get that classic octave-down effect you'll recognise from Hendrix' "Machine Gun" and other recordings. But it also lets you add in a high octave so you can hit your audiences with a sonic wall of 3-octave lead lines.
You can mix the octaves however you want to create your own signature sound. And the pedal features a controllable boost button to help you lift your solos up above the mix.
An octave divider or any other pedal is only as good as it sounds, and you can count on Octavius to deliver all the warm, vintage-sounding tone you'd expect from T-Rex.
Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls: LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST.
The LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal.
The HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal.
The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound.
The MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal.
Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

I was looking for a octave pedal that didn't change the tone of my guitar. There are others that do similar effects, but they all color the tone. The T Rex Octavius gives you both octave up and octave down, and boost if you need it, and it won't color the tone. What ever your guitar sounds like going in will be the same on the other end, with the added octaves of course.
I did a lot of research, watched alot of demo videos and tried a handful of octave pedals in the store but nothing compares to the Octavius. I was put off a bit because of the price at first being its much more expensive than some of its competitors but the old adage you get what you pay for really applies here. No matter if your just looking to thicken up your solos or get some off the wall sounds by dialing everthing to 11 this pedal still ceases to amaze me. There is zero latency between what you pick and the sound you hear plus it doesn't matter if your picking single notes or strumming chords the quality is the same. Try playing chords with any other octave pedal and you'll be disappointed. This is by far one of the best pedal investments that I've made and I'm looking forward to putting it through the paces for years to come.
First impression: Excellent sounding pedal, and a lot of fun. Very clear, low noise, and it tracks very precisely. It does NOT come with a wall wart (as I assumed it did), or at least mine didn't, but it doesn't really need one. It uses a standard 9V connector, so your DC Brick or Pedal Power 2 (among others) will work fine. This is my second T-Rex pedal. My first was a Replica, which came with a 12V wall wart. I like both of these pedals, and they sound great together. This is not a synth-sounding organ emulator. It keeps your guitar tone intact. It just gives you a very cool doubling or tripling effect that is very "usable" and controllable. It doesn't sound fake (and neither does the Replica).
