I just purchased two of these holders for my home and studio mic stands. They slip on easily and prevent any spills especially if you are in the habit of putting a drink on the top of your amplifier. If your mic stand post diameter is less than 15/16" it will slip a little but a few wraps of electrical tape on the post will solve that problem.
For an old fart like me, reaching down to the floor for my water bottle is a bit of a stretch. Besides I'm always kicking it over down there. How much better to simply extend my arm to the music stand and quench my thirst without all the extra exertion. Besides everyone else in the band thinks it's cute.
