Comments about Suzuki CTP-88 Classroom Teaching Piano with Bench:

I bought this for my 7 year old 13 months ago through Guitar Center. He has been taking piano lessons for some time and I decided to purchase this piano partly because it had good reviews. It has worked well over the last year. It is well cared for, and used around 20 minutes per day most days... Sometimes up to an hour per day. It is completely unplugged during any family absences such as vacations. We just returned from a week away. The piano was played the day before we left and I unplugged it completely before leaving. I just plugged it back in this morning so my son could practice and there is no sound. Everything else looks to be working perfectly. I called Suzuki to help me troubleshoot what the problem was and because it was out of warranty (13 months vs 12 months), they would not assist me other than just to provide the names of repair services... No troubleshooting... Nothing. I'm extremely disappointed in the piano, the customer service, and the company. Things are just not made to be quality products anymore... And companies do not try to assist anyone. Never did I imagine that the sound would spontaneously stop working after 13 months for no apparent reason and no warning.
I recently gave away a very nice Yamaha keyboard that I received as a Christmas present in 1990. It still worked... I'm kicking myself over getting rid of it now. I guess I expected the new digital piano to at least last a few years.

Comments about Suzuki CTP-88 Classroom Teaching Piano with Bench:

I bought the piano on the asumption that it would help my playing, compliment my decor and provide a more professional aspect to my home.

I was thrilled when the piano arrived via eighteen wheeler, but after unboxing, and set up there were few things that needed to be addressded.

          1. The sustian pedal is not working!(tried all settings to test) The cable that runs between it and the keyboard are supposed to run through a cable canal but would not fit. The R-45 jack had its tab broken almost off and loosely fit into the keyboard interconnect.
          2. The wiring canal was not mentioned in the assembly instrctions, and deemed useless.

The instructions on part 5 Finalziing Piano Assembly

          A. Install the headphone holder (area not exsistant on my piano)

          B. Tighten Pedal Brace Knob (never could find where that went, although was included with harware)

          C. Plugin and secure Piano Cable. (non exsistant)

Overall nice piano with features and sound (annoying speaker click when engaging the the vintage on off switch), but stand was poorly thought out and engineered.

My final thought...You can do better, but not at this price point!
