I purchased this desk a year ago and it has certainly improved the clutter situation in my studio. One downside is when fully loaded the caster screws cannot take the weight when the unit is rolled forward and back. In fact the rubber wheels can't take it. I had the rubber of one wheel tear in half and another the screws pulled out. Mind you, I am not wheeling this thing around the room. I have merely pulled it forward a few feet to change the configuration a couple of times. I would recommend drilling holes through the base and using bolts to attach the casters. I am sure that would solve the problem. Of course it wouldn't solve the problem of the cheap casters. Those you could upgrade as well. All in all a good item. I wish I thought about the caster mount sooner because I am not going to disassemble my whole studio now and the desk is so heavy loaded up. Definitely use bolts. The extra effort will be worth it.

It is a very good plan when you consider the architectural part of it. But the quality of the wood is the biggest problem for me. I haven't used it much, but the tray fell off. And trust me when I tell you I get pay to put together furniture for high end customers. My wife bought this as a gift that's why I have it and I appreciate the fact she tried to do something nice with me but the compress wood is no good. I will never tell anyone not to get it but just keep that in mind. If you don't know what that is "google". Other Wilde it's beautiful and full of rack space.

Does The Job!

By Brad Lathrop

from Pekin, IL

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

This is not a Professional Level desk, it is a Hobbyist Level desk. If you are looking for perfectly spaced racks holes and the ability to load it with a thousand pounds of hardware, you should look elsewhere. But for the hobbyist, this desk is PERFECT. With the quality of today's plug-ins we aren't using racks and racks of hardware any longer. I put this desk together in 2 hours by myself. No problems with assembly, just don't over torque the screws and they won't strip. I loaded it up with a PC, 2 19" wide screen LCDs, 2 studio monitors, mixer, and 4 rack mount pieces of hardware, then pushed it across thick carpeting with no trouble at all. There is still lots of room for more gear if needed and plenty of desktop space for my MIDI controller when needed. As far as bang for the buck for the hobbyist, you can't do any better! A few assembly tips: loosely assemble the racks and install a piece of rack-mounted gear before tightening all the screws, which will assure rack hole alignment. When attaching the CD holder / support, attach them to the bridge first. Don't over torque the screws when mounting the casters. Enjoy!!

AWESOME!!!!

By Baphomet1313

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

I recently purchased this desk, and could not be happier!!! I had been in the market for a desk for awhile and this one had my name written all over it! This thing is VERY large!!!It spans about 6 feet wide, which can accomodate most keyboards easily. I also like the fact that there is so much rack space. This beast was also suprisingly easy to put together. I would highly recommend buying one of these to anyone putting together a home studio!!!

Excellant Purchase!

By Jimm Mac - www.brazosriverband.com

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

The best tool in my studio! I can't emphasize this enough. The rack spacing is perfect - and the design was well thought out. I have two 1000 watt amps in it (one on each bottom side) as well as two dual CD players, a 16 band EQ, Furman power unit, two storage drawers, a 24 track mixer, an effects unit, compressor, headphone amp, the list goes on. Still need some blanks to cover the holes. The cord organizer in the back works quite well. This thing is really sturdy! The legs are tubular steel and all the parts fit together very well. Because I have a woodworking background, I did put a drop of glue on each screw prior to installing each one since it is particle board. (something I don't normally use but this is a great media.) I got the cherry finish and it looks like furniture from an attorney's office. I also have my computer with a 22" monitor on top and can't beat it. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars - I'd do it. A great desk

By Sean

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

This is a great production desk for those wanting to keep their studio gear together but are on a budget or don't need 4 and 5 digit custom furniture. Plenty of rack space on both sides for various processors. Even the upper level rack for things that need to be accessible. A smart cord management trough in the back. I use this as my composition workstation and have an 88 key controller on the main desk, two LCD monitors and other necessary project studio gear and computers. I couldn't ask for more in this price range - other than perhaps a lower desk height for serious keyboard work. If you can assemble Ikea furniture this thing will be a breeze.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

awesome desk. has everything u need. or at least i think. read some bad reviews about how high a computer monitor sits on the top. but they must be sitting on the floor cuz i don't see any problems. easy to put together. took my fiancee and i about 2 hours. if you have room then buy it. but remember its big. spands about 6 feet and it's 32 inches wide. comes in two boxes. 1 is extremely heavy. two people to lift @ least. i have a 6 foot bed on my pickup and it wouldn't shut with box.

A Music Man Cave Must

By TitanupJbass

from Tennessee

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

It has room for everything and more. Assembly was so easy. I bought the cherry model and i could not be happier. Putting two full size pc's in one side and all my electronics in the other side, as well as three monitors (two pc and one tv) on the top shelf, with room for more stuff to come. The guys at Guitar Center in Nashville were the best. They were even concerned that i had help waiting when i got home so i could get the huge, heavy boxes out of the truck,(yes its big and heavy).I love it.

The Perfect Desk for Home Studios

      By EUGENE

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

I ordered this desk after my studio was flooded and had to be completely removed and dried out! I had a wooden "L" shaped desk that caused the middle of the room to be cluttered. With this new Producer's desk, I was able to eliminate the problem allowing me to put all my gear in this unit mounting all my outboard gear in the two 19" racks on either end of the desk. Cabling is always a bit of a problem but this desk had access areas on the main level shelf and cable run troughs in the back to keep the wiring need and off the floor. Great Design and rock solid with all bolts tightened properly! The price was right and, although the delivery was a bit long, it was certainly worth the wait. The curbside delivery guy was nice enough to help me get the 250lb box into my basement and after the assembly was completed (a few hours) it works perfectly and It's a welcome improvement in my studio!! I highly recommend it anyone looking to organize their studio in a limited space!!
