I had previously purchased a JP 70 and was impressed with it and decided to get the 6 string model, JP 100. Personally I like the Pacific Burst over the three tone model, I'm completely happy with the sound quality, even though I didn't get the DiMarzio pick up(s) version. The "basic pickup version" has a very good sound. The neck is very comfortable shape and the 24 fret range makes it very playable. It includes the "JP shield" on the 1st fret, plus the locking tuners are a nicer feature than the standard Floyd Rose "locking nut". While the stock pickups are not DiMarzio, they are very nice in faithfully reproducing the tonal quality. This guitar is a very nice one to get along with the JP70 (7 string model)for those who want sonic flexibility. If you cannot afford a "Majestic" model, this is a very good option to explore !
I recently picked up this guitar used and it was the greatest decision I have ever made. Esp and shecter as well as jackson guitars dont match up to the sustain the playability as well as versatility of the amazing guitar. Im going to install different pickups in order to match my genre but if you are thinking about picking this guitar up. Do it.
This guitar is fantastic. stays in tune after a beating even without the locking mechanism. Takes a couple of tries to get it into a different tuning, but I expect that from a floyd rose. it has an awesome natural low-mid sound which makes it have a nice "warm" quality. had to tweak with the action a bit, but nothing serious. It feels slick and fast for those shreding solos. The only thing that freaked me out at first was the headstock which was smaller than i was used to, but grew to like it. Favorite guitar so far.
This is a great guitar.... It has great sound and plays very well on most types of music! I totally recommend this guitar to you
im going to be completely straightforward, i have seen five of these guitars and rented one which is still in my possesion, its well crafted and has worked for pantera, randy rhoads, tom morello, guns and roses, ZZ top and many other styles of guitar. also, if you practice with alot of scales, the neck is really easy to pull of the scales, and if your working on learning new songs it was easier for me to run through the riffs better than my ibanez geo,all in all, luv the guitar
I was luckily one of the first in the country to snag one of these online. I thought it was too good to be true until it arrived at my doorstep. The guitar has blown me away from day one, and i keep going back to it. The neck is smooth, comfortable, and the assymetrical carve is extremely comfortable. Not as thin as an ibanez, not as fat as a fender. THe pickups were the only thing i expected to swap out, and i have yet to. They're sweet sounding to my ears and i'll probably keep them. They're not as dark as ibanez pickups, but the same grit and growl. The fit and finish was top notch right out of the box and everything was set up straight and true. The action was just about as low as it could go before buzzing, and intonation was dead on. The trem is very comfortable and stays in great tune even with considerable usage. The locking tuners and perloid buttons also aid in the tuning stability. The quilted maple cap is gorgeous and makes this guitar stand out on stage. Overall the value is way above the cost, and i'm very very happy with the purchase.
