Comments about Sterling by Music Man Cutlass CT50 Electric Guitar:
I previously owned a Sterling guitar (Silo) before and was impressed with the quality at that price point. I prefer strats and typically upgrade MIM strats over time.
I came across a Seafoam Green Cutlass at my local GC, gave it a shot, and was pretty impressed. I'd been wanting to move away from humbuckers as hums don't suit the style I've been progressing toward. Especially impressive is that it is equipped with locking tuners from factory. It feels lighter than most strats I've owned; I'm unsure of the weight comparison, but if anything the mass felt more balanced than a strat, almost as if the weight was centralized instead of being top heavy.
The single coil pickups are also very nice and especially shine on a nice clean amp tone. I may put something hotter in the bridge down the road - but out of the box it's still extremely versatile.
If you're a fan of MIM Fender guitars and aren't a snob about name is on the headstock, I'd absolutely recommend giving this guy a spin.
