  • Best for the Money !

As reviewed by Chuck Rackley on 8/23/2011

I recently had the chance to sit in with a friends band and he handed me his E B bass to play and I fell in love with it . I decided to go to G C and get one but when I got there I spotted this bass in the silver burst finish . I sat there with an E B and this Sterling for an hour going back and forth and could not find any real difference between the two . Asked my wife which she liked and she said the sterling was prettier ( which is true ) , bought it and couldn't be happier great product at less than half the price ! You won't be disappointed in this period . By the way I am a regular gigging musician who plays every week and this is my new bass of choice .

  • Make other bass players jealous

As reviewed by Domo on 7/27/2011

I am a Fender guy. I want to say that right off the bat. To me the Fender Jazz Bass and Rickenbacker 4003 were the greatest basses ever made, period. THEN I went to Guitar Center and played this bass. Needless to say, I rethought my opinion. The neck is perfect, no dead spots. It's the Fender "BaseBall Bat" neck, and it's not that super thin Ibanez "made for incredibly small hands" necks. I prefer a maple fingerboard, but this bass felt so incredible I got the rosewood instead and I would NEVER change the neck. I am normally a rock and roll bass player, but I wound up playing in a country band as a favor to a friend. Needless to say, the dynamics of this bass are so amazing you can literally play any kind of music. The bass player in my old band (who forced me to play guitar) always wanted a Music Man... Now I have a Sterling, which looks and sunds just like the MM and is less than half the price. TOTALLY worth it, and now he's incredibly jealous.
