I have had this guitar for a couple weeks now, so I am pretty familiar with it now. The shock and awww has past, so I can give this guitar a worthy review. I have the see through black, and it is pretty. Upon opening the box, I thought, this doesn't look like anything special. I was wrong. The guitar is build to be played. I have owned ESP's, Ibanez Prestige, and a ton of others, and this one is the only one that I ever was like, this is what it is all about. The guitar's neck feels much different from anything else out there, it is like the bastard child of an ibanez and esp lol. Not as flat as a wizard neck, but not quite as round as an esp. It is contoured for your hand, I absolutely love it. This guitar had everything that I was after. It is a JP after all. It has locking tuners, a trem, not locking, dimarzio pick ups, this thing is build for shred. Guitars come and go, but this one won't be leaving my collection. Matter of fact, I would say, I will end up with another, this is now my go to guitar.

  • JP100D Is Built For Shredding

As reviewed by Tim Ackerman on 7/9/2012

The first thing I noticed when opening the case was the stunning maple top. The weight of the guitar is comfortable and balanced. The frets are finished nicely with no sharp edges and the neck is unfinished for a very fast feel. The action was set very low with no buzzing and the sustain with the 5 bolt neck is really nice. The bar also moves very smooth and with little effort. This is a huge difference from my Kahler Spyder. The locking tuners make changing strings a breeze and keep the guitar in tune amazing well. I've never used a bar without a locking nut but the locking tuners work great. The pickups sound great clean or distorted and give a well balanced output. This guitar was not designed for that Strat spank, so don't even think about it. It delivers fat, full humbucker crunch and smooth, whirring lead sounds from the neck pickup. This is one of the best guitars you'll find for the money

  • Solid Guitar

As reviewed by Trenton Joiner on 3/14/2014

I don't think there is a better guitar out there for the money, the maple top looks almost exactly like the music man models if not exactly the same and the build quality is fantastic as they are inspected and set up here at the U.S. factory. The sound is HUGE and it plays great as well, I have the three tone sunburst model and I could not be happier with it.
