While already having many various microphones, this new ST69 has an incredible sound. Many already are Sterlings,Shures, Telefunken. This great unit has a wonderful Stainless Steel Body and Design. Very clean and precise product design with a cost effective purpose. It's made to go against more expensive mics for less. It does not require phantom power and comes with it's own power supply, cable and case. Just recently recorded with my new Focusrite ISA100 PreAmp and what you have is incredible warm vocals dialed into what you wish to achieve. It has three various switches for a wide choice of vocal recording applications. I tested this new Mic against others and it finished first having a real distinct and unique quality.Fred B the audio pro upon hearing the recording said, it was one of the best his ears ever heard!! I fully agree after many mic/song comparisons. Again, another superb investment of quality.

I bought the Sterling Audio ST69 in 2010. It worked for recording vocals but was a little muddy and hard to EQ to a professional sound. Recording Acoustic guitars was ok. It was not suitable for loud guitar cabs. Then in 2013 the connector for the mic chord went bad. Everyone in town who I asked to fix it didn't work on them and scoffed at the mic as if I should have known better than to have bought one in the first place. After a year I did find someone to work on it, but the piece still is built poorly and does not work well. (Can you tell I didn't buy a warranty?). There are much better mics at this price point. Some may like it... I will never buy a Sterling Audio product again.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I've bought this mic back in 2010 and have been recording mostly Classical and Jazz styles with it. Right now I'm recording our Jazz ensemble with this mic for the brass/winds sections, and I'm pairing it with another awesome as and X/Y for our 35 years old Brass Quintet album.
When we get done I'll send videos.
In short is an Amazing Mic.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I have been using the mic for about a year - it is a really nice addition to my studio. It is great for voice and acoustic instruments - very nice response and playback. I use a Daking preamp with it - you really need a good preamp to bring out the best in the mic. So if you want a good professional result from the mic you need to spend a few more hundred on a good quality preamp. You will be glad you did.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I bought this mic to add to my studio setup because I was getting more serious into recording artists vocals, doing jingles, and recording a podcast. This mic was fantastic quality for what I needed and was very pleased with the quality. Very warm tones and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a mic in the $500-$600 price range.

        No Regrets On This Mic

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

The comparison between the ST69 and the CV12: The ST69 is designed by someone who knows mics. The stock CV12 is... well Red. This is better tube and sturdy quality.

        Great mic for the money

        By Vladimir Sushkov

        from San Jose, CA

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I used this mic to record acoustic guitar with steel strings, placing the mic both the neck and at the bridge positions. The mic yields very decent sounds, very clear, with no (or very little if any) coloration. I did not try it on vocals. I also briefly tried it on guitar cabinet along with Shure SM57, and both mics blended nicely in mono recording. For the cab I put SM57 off-axis, set it bit louder, and ST69 was also off-axis and about 4-6db lower. The build quality of this mic is great, it is very sturdy, with vintage flavor. The only drawback is that the shockmount does not hold the mic in place for long time. I had to tighten the nut multiple times to keep the mic aligned properly.

        Gorgeous Sound

        By Devin Zorn

        from North Richland HIlls, Tx.

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I compared this at my local GC to similar priced Blue, Shure, Neumann, and MXL and this was the best! Speaking into the mics to test, the rest sounded flat and lifeless while this one sounded like my head was coming out of the monitors into the room and speaking to us! comes with its own power supply, cables to run it, and a shock mount, this is an incredible mic and looks impressive to people coming to record at my home studio. Runs Cardioid, Omni and Figure 8 with -10db and high pass. this is an excellent mic that i would pay more than what theyre charging for and would DEFINITELY recommend to every self-respecting engineer.

        Excellent Mic!

Comments about Sterling Audio ST69 Multi-pattern Tube Condenser Mic:

I heard about his mic in Memphis and Nashville, two cities that know their music! After hearing all the ravs about this mic, and then hearing it in A-B comparison's with some of the most famous mics in the business I heard quickly why everyone likes it so much. After hearing the A-B tests I purchased mine and it's been a favorite ever since. Very versatile, and has a nice warm vintage sound. Very happy with it and the whole Sterling line. GREAT products and GREAT customer service.
