Put air and body into your vocals with vintage FET sound.

Certain vintage and modern German mics are lusted after for their ability to produce full-bodied vocals with a unique sheen that has come to be known as "air." Of course they also come with a throat-clogging price tag (and that's just the modern ones, vintage market prices bring you closer to cardiac arrest). However, Sterling Audio has found a way to bring you that vintage FET sound without the mind-numbing price tag — the Sterling ST77 large-diaphragm condenser.

Sterling designed the ST77 condenser mic around a Class-A discrete FET mic amp specially chosen to match its cardioid, large diaphragm capsule. The capsule itself has been sized and tuned to provide a silky and airy top end with a full, warm mid-range reminiscent of vintage microphones. Hand-selected internal components create a sound that flatters vocals and instruments.

Requires phantom power.

Sterling Audio ST77 Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Mic Features:

  • Large, 8-micron gold-sputtered capsule
  • Warm-sounding, low-noise, classic studio mic sound
  • Steel head and woven-brass mesh grill
  • Heavy brass black finished enclosure
  • Vintage transformer-coupled design
  • Attractive mahogany colored storage case
  • Specially designed SM-7 shockmount included
  • Custom foam windscreen

Sterling Audio ST77 Large Diaphragm Studio Condenser Mic Includes:

    Custom shockmount and windscreen.

Best for under $800

I tried many mics before figuring out this one was the best value within my budget. The $1000+ Newmanns and AKGs sounded fuller still, but this was superior to the Rodes, Audio Technicas, etc. under $800 street price range. The Rodes in this price range were competitive with high pitch voices; but overall, and if some bass is desired, this is a far superior mic.

Outstanding!

This mic is soooo clear. It picks up every little bit of detail you throw at it. The sound quality is off the charts. IT should be priced way more than it is. I am only using this with a mbox 2 mini and the sound is still very good. Buy this, you wont regret it.

Thank god I bought this mic!

My god where do I start first of all I think there is no mic outhere better than this for less than 1k. The sound is full and clear and crisp and I was very pleased with the stunnig results of this mic. And the other thing is that I didn't even use a good preamp with this mic, The one that I used was the presonus Tubepre and It sounded amazing. Another thing that I found out is that is very durable, because when i first got it I was trying to put it on the shock mount and dropped it from a distance of 4' feet and that things still worked flawlesly. The last thing that I have to say is that if your ready to take it to the next level than this is a serious mic for you trust me on this one. -Juan

The Greatest Mic You can buy 4 under 1000$

I was going 2 do the norm and purchase the 2700$ mic.Instead we compared the numann u87 and the st77 in the store and guess whis one sounded better.Need I say more. This is a great mic 2 have in your studio 4 all around projects.Go pick it up if you don't like it take it back .But I'm pretty sure you"ll be pleased..
