Excellent mic for the price!
This mic is absolutely perfect for small studio applications. The vocal clarity is on the one and the details are impeccable. I would recommend this mic to everyone building a small home studio with a limited budget.

Honestly, this is a really good mic.
I got this mic as a gift from my girlfriend who had no idea what she was buying. However, it turned out great because it is such a good mic for the price. I'm sure you can probably get impeccable quality from a more expensive mic in a more serious studio setting, but if you're like me and in my basement with a project studio, then this mic is a great starting point (and possibly a keeper as you move on). It's warm and smooth just like a good condenser mic should be. No glitches so far from my end.
Note to the beginner, of course you need to power this puppy - so buy an interface or some sort of Phantom Power to make sure it works.
PS - the black finish is so beautiful, my preference compared to a silver (kinda like a good SLR)

I LOVE THIS MIC
I have this mic in my project studio and this is my mic of choice. I have about 3 other mics but this is the one I use on all of my vocals! It is so detailed and clear!! It picks up every little sound you throw at it. If your looking for a GREAT mic that won't burn your pocket, this is it. Try it, I know you will be pleased.

Excellent
This is an excellent mic for just about anything. It captures every hint of vocals and is the closest thing to the human ear. For guitar amps it's a great room mic, it rounds out the frequencies and make the amp sound warm. Same thing for bass amps. I have not used it on drums yet but i own 2 ST31 and they are amazing. I highly recommend this mic for anyone that is on a tight budget.

awesome!!!! worth every penny!!
i just bought this today, it was an absolute upgrade from my mxl 990. i did like my 990 and seemed to defend it quite often but bang for buck this one tops the charts. i recorded a female country vocalist with it today and the vocals were so warm and true. i almost am afraid to edit now. worth every penny!!!!

Works on everything
I've been using this mic for one full year now. I was recording a band and the vocalist brought over this ST51 to try on vocals and screaming, I was like sure why not. Ever sense then I have not used another mic.

WOOOOOOW!
this mic is excellent! it can pick up a mouse going across your floor in the background!
(not that i have any mind you)but thats how sensitive, the pick-up is so you definately need foam surrounded booth for this mic(a must have)
i recomend it for all beginners in the production software game if your just getting started this is your mic the price is right if guitar center keeps it that way? it will sell massively!bravo sterling and guitar center for the price for the struggling producers.... THANK YOU!!!!

Great Mic, Great price
I was pretty skeptical at first to be honest, for the price I didn't really expect much. But the clarity and response is quite good, my recordings pick up things i didn't even notice when playing. The bass reproduction is very good, maybe a little too good.
This mic definitely favors the top and bottom end of the frequency spectrum, which is nice for me because it suits both my voice and my guitar (a parlor size).
