Great Bass!

By Charles

Comments about Fender Starcaster P Bass:

I love this bass! Needed the set up adjusted a bit, but this was both easy and fun with on line help from Fender. Guitar Center beat the competition by 10% with free to my door shipping. Ordered this on a Thursday morning and it was in my hands by Friday evening! I have been playing guitar for 35 years and this is my first bass. You could spend more and do worse, so buy one today!

Great for the money

By robert pierson

Comments about Fender Starcaster P Bass:

Don't think this thing is a junker. It is a typical P bass that is really solid with a little help. It has a full scale neck and the pups are pretty warm. Could be warmer, but the bass isn't 800 bucks, either. When mine came, I needed to really adjust the neck and set the string height; but fender's website has documents that show and explain, step by step, how to do so; and it was buzz free and solid in 40 minutes. I modded mine with a Chinese mother of pearl pick guard and pickup and chrome bridge covers. Total, I have under 250 in this bass and I love it. May replace the pups for something warmer, but all in all, love this bass. BTW, went into Guitar Center several times and checked out and plugged in several of their higher end American Ps; they felt similar in weight and balance and really didn't sound that much better. Finish on most was nicer, but... Don't be led around by the snobs who judge by head stock and logo title - yet don't really know much more than that. All in all, a great deal for the money.
