Dan you must have some extremely heavy hands dude dont be ridiculous. I own a stanton str8-150 and a t62 and granted the str8-150 has amazing torque and you seriously have to be trying to stop the platter. the t62 has sufficient enough torque to scratch as long as you dont have heavy hands. i would recommend the str8-150 if you have the money. but if your looking to buy some tables on a budget the t62 is a great way to go. a few other things about the t62 that i dont really like is how the tonearm is plastic where the str8 has a nice metal one. another thing is the weight. my str8's shipping weight was 12lbs more than my other shipment which included the t62, a mixer, a few vinyls and some frosted plates. I love how heavy the str8 is it makes for amazing stability and strength. the t62 is in fact mostly all plastic and weighs significantly less but it is still stable and will perform most any task you would like it to. all in all the t62 is really good for the price but the st8-150 is much more worth it in the long run. not to mention that the str8 has 3 different settings of key lock, reverse, start speed, break speed, and all that good stuff.

I guess the old saying rings true....you get what u pay for. This deck has a great design and great playback, but that is really all it is good for. The torque on the platters is super weak. You touch the record and it stops, and it lags upon realease. If you are looking for some decks to mix on these are fine, but forget it if you plan to scratch. I wish I had gone with something else or just payed a little more for a better set of decks.

    Comments about Stanton T.62B Turntable:

Ok I have had a bunch of 1200's, I'm a former radio DJ and repair tech of turntables. Out of the box for this price .... this is a good table. The included Cartridge is nothing to go crazy over but it works and is pre-mounted to a ok headshell. This is not a high end Shure style cartridge but it is decent and does have middle of the road sound quality. The motor is good, the pitch is very accurate and the tone arm is made of metal. My one wish is that the stylus light had an off switch rather than removal, but that's also easy to replace when it burns out. Bottom line: if you can't afford more get this one, and flip the slip mat upside down! It works way better!

      Comments about Stanton T.62B Turntable:

I already owned the STR8 150, and I bought the T62 because of the sale price. The 150 is the best turntable that I've owned. It is called the Technics killer. The T62 is for the very beginners. The quality is not even comparable. If you can afford to step up to the killer, I would advise in doing so. I was pretty disappointed in the T62. Its like comparing a Corvette and a Cavalier by every aspect. Happy Spinning!

      Great Product

      By Christopher Miller

      Comments about Stanton T.62B Turntable:

My major concern was the slipmat, it doesn't slip that well. But I will get some better ones soon. I use my older record players plastic non slip mat for general listening and wow the difference it makes. The needle is one of the lower end Stanton models but it doesnt skip. Setup was quick and the manuals are very well formatted and user friendly. You do not need a degree in computer sciences to read it.

The AC adapter on the back though... If you plan on running this in a battle set up. TT spun counterclockwise and to the right of a mixer, the ac cable will be pressed against if you do not leave enough room in between the mixer and the table. I even use a Stanton mixer the M212 that looks the same as the table. I had thought they would be more compatible but I do like my mixer right close to the table. If you leave about an inch you have plenty of room.

And well I dont want to go with NuMark they look like UFO's. I know this kind of looks like an iPod but I like the black finish alot.

      Great product for the value

      By Jared Healy

      Comments about Stanton T.62B Turntable:

Overall this product is a great bang for your buck. I've been using my tables for about two months now in conjunction with Traktor Scratch Pro to do both playthrough & timecode vinyls and they've been nothing short of outstanding.
The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is because it doesn't have anit-skate settings, not that I've been having a problem with that anyway.
