I bought the Stanton over the Pioneer because I don't do much scratching (I'm a trance DJ). Unfortunately the buttons are totally shabby and you have to press at a certain angle to get them to respond (especially the cue and play buttons). the display is bright, the effects are great and its an overall good quality CD player for the price. mine started to skip after a while, looping automatically wihtout pressing anything so they have to go. theyr'e good for the price, but I recommend dishin out the green for the Pioneers.

Right from the start, you'll notice the BRIGHT blue light that'll blind you wether your 2 feet away or 2 miles away. At some point as the cd plays, the display screen doesn't read the track accurately. How would you know which track to cue next if the screen is blank or how much time is left before making the transition? Furthermore, your only option left is to power the unit off to reset the problem. Bpm counter is horrible and everything on the surface makes your fingers sticky. If your just starting out, this might be for you. There's other options out there for vinylist thinking about switching to cd decks.

DJ Avant Garde

By DJ Avant Garde

I bought these about a month and a half ago and let me tell you that these are by far the best for value CDJs I have ever used/owned! I have had no problems at all and my only complaint is that the quick search button doesn't go through the song as fast as I would like (but that is completely minor). Stanton is a very reliable brand and have proved themselves again! Personally, I think value-wise they are a better buy then the Pioneer 600s and like all of the effects they have onboard compared to the pioneers!

This CD has been great I've had them about a month now...When I first bought it one of them kept looping automatically, but I returned it and got another one and have had no problems... the on board effects are great...and the loops are seamless! Great for trance mixing.. Overall, well worth the it, and at an unbeatable price!

Genious

By DJ Obey

from Chicago

Stanton really has outdone themselves. I personally think it will be impossible to beat this CD-J. The effects are awesome, the scratching is very accurate, The sound is great, the anti-shock is brilliant, the display is wicked clean and easy to read. The only way this 314 gets any better, is having a 100 dollar price drop. Hands down genious CD-J.

A very good buy for beginners or veterens.

By DJ H.I.T.

from Perris

I bought a set of Stanton C.314's to get back in the DJ biz,as soon as I started playing with them I found out that they are as good as turntables with a little more attitude. The effects and the sampler are cool to make on the spot remixes. If you are a beginner or a seasoned vet you can't go wrong with a set of Stanton C.314's.I personally recommend the Stanton C.314 for all beginners who are on a tight budget.

Great product for the price!

By DJ Chill Will

I only had them for a couple of days but so far I like them. I have used the CDJ1000 a couple of times and I like these just as well. Sometimes the pitch numbers are not correct but other than that it's a good product.

good but not the best

By DJ Bluskye

from Wichita, KS

Im extremely disapointed by the loops and effects, they both suck. Its extremely hard to halfway even synchronize the looping or the effects to your music b4 they wanna give up and not work right. Some of the buttons stick and that can be bad wen you are in a hurry. The vinal feel sux, doesnt sound anything like it should sound. The trax will start to skip and that is really annoying when your playing live, because you have to think of something really quick or be screwed. Sometimes the tracks will just stop alltogether like the thing ran out of juice. The Good stuff: The 7 effects are quite good if you can get them to work. The pitch and the bpm counters are nice for beat matching, really helps out, the looping still sux. All in all id rather dish out the green for a better product like pioneer or numark.

I have to say that this was a huge upgrade from what I already had. Love the Effects on the Stanton C.314 and can't stop using them. Overall, this product is worth every buck. I've had the cd players for about 4 months now and haven't had any technical problems.

Hot piece for the money

By Drizza

This is a must have item for the rookie DJ that does not want to appear a rookie. Great loops and the scratching is useful once you get use to it. You can party like a pro and feel like Funk Master Flex. I strongly suggest this item.

I grew up on vinyl, and had no problem transitioning to these

By Haroon

from Pittsburgh, PA

I love these decks. I grew up on vinyl and had no problem getting used to these. The learning curve for me was perhaps ten minutes. If you need heavy duty decks -- yes, go for more expensive, time-tested units. If you want something that gets the job done for casual mixing and mixtapes -- these are excellent. The onboard effects are very nice. I scratch plenty and have no problem with these; I can even manage beat juggling on them! Drawbacks? I think the sampler is unintuitive. So are some of the adjustments, such as altering the brake speed. For the price though there's no way I can complain.

You get what you pay for

By Djsilentblaze

from New york

i have had this system for a while now its really great for the price offered but if you want great scratching don't buy it if you want something just to pratice ur scratching skils go for it. the thing about this system is at first it works fine. the prolems is the touch sensitivity as you use it the sensitivity decreases because the friction between the platter and your hand kills it. unlike the pioneer the platter is metallic so after a time the platters don't respond as quicly as it used to i know. but all in all to start of with its a good cdjay with a really good resonable price.
