  • Finally

As reviewed by Andrew on 3/28/2009

I have been looking for years for something that would stand up to my old a-frame stand as far as being solid. I have two 88 keyboards that I never felt safe leaving on my other stands because I thought they would fail, let me tell you this stand is awesome - it is rock solid and there is very little movement even when I hammer on my boards. Setup is also very fast and easy - the lonly thing that takes a little trial and error is setting up the stand for the first time as you have to adjust it with the provided allen wrench so that you have your boards right where you want them, after that you will never have to adjust it again unless you get a different board.

  • Heavier than I thought it would be

As reviewed by Pat on 6/23/2009

I ordered this on line and found it to be a little bit heavier and bulkier than I was expecting. Both my keyboards are 61 keys and light so both of them put together may not weigh as much as this stand. It weighs 26 lbs. Just like the prior comments, once you adjust it to where you want it, it is very sturdy and will be easy to set up (in about 30 seconds). It comes with a sturdy bag which has double zippers with one pull, which makes it very easy to put away and two allen wrenches if you want to change the levels on it, along with pictured instructions. I will try it out with the hopes I can get used to the weight of it.

  • 90% brilliant, 10% WTF?

    As reviewed by K P on 12/6/2010

The Brilliant: Excellent stability (no bounce), fast setup, convenient soft-side carry case, sturdy build quality, well thought-out overall design, looks great on stage, keyboard support pins are smartly attached with straps. The WTF?: The tear-drop screws that hold the front to back adjustments on the keyboard supports don't fit properly and can loosen suddenly-sending your $2K keyboard to tumble off your other $2K keyboard and fall to the floor. The front of the keyboard supports are sharp and will cut you if you are not careful. Cheap hook and loop on the front leg stabilizers will fall off because of crappy adhesive; seems trivial, but the supports just fall to the floor or across something expensive while you are setting up/tearing down and it's annoying. The rubber feat will fall off so just epoxy them on now and be done with it. The straps on the carry case are not centered and you will be dragging one end of case on the ground if you use them. Conclusion: A trip to the hardware store and an hour or two replacing ill fitting fasteners, placing vinyl padding, and other glaring omissions has yielded possibly the finest keyboard stand out there. If you don't mind spending some time finishing the assembly on this gem, then I would recommend this stand. I just don't understand why the manufacturer did such a fine job in some places, and then they absolutely failed with the finishing touches. I hope the manufacturer is reading this.
