      Stagg Black Metal Bell (490543)
Availability:

Pierces the mix with a deeply focused metallic tone.

This strikingly unique Black Metal Bell is a fun, versatile cymbal hand-cast from heavy B20 bronze. The top surface has a dark, earthy, raw finish that contributes to its thick, focused, dry sound. The cymbal has a smooth lathed underside that allows it to pierce through the music with a brilliant resonance and a lengthy sustain. The large bell levels off into the lip.Because Black Metal Bells are hand-crafted, each one has a subtly varied shape and its own personality with individual tonality, volume, and colorations producing several unique voices, depending on where and how you strike it.BMB cymbals can also be stacked, played like mini-hats, inverted above larger cymbals, or held in the hand and played like percussion instruments. The smaller diameter cymbals are higher pitched while the larger ones are darker, with the 7" versions having a wider range of pitch variation. The lighter versions have thinner sounds.

  • Best. Bell. Ever.

As reviewed by Alex Andrekus on 2/10/2010

I recently got the 7" heavy bell, and its basicly perfect. Im going to compare it to a zilbel because thats seems to be the standard eveyone trys to live up to. No, it does not sound like the zilbel, it has many clashing tones whereas zilbels are more pure sounding. Its also loud as hell, very piercing, maybe only a little less than zilbels because the pitch is lower, but it cuts straight through my band. And plus is like half the cost. so yeah, stagg....

  • Stagg 6.5" Bell

As reviewed by M.Smith on 5/19/2010

It's a really good bell, and the price was very affordable.I like the bright sound it has.I play it daily. The only thing that i don't like about it is it has to long of a delay instead of being real quick. It think it holds out to long, but other than that it is an awesome bell.I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a bell with out a very big budget.

  • Worried about it being cheap? Don't be.

As reviewed by George M.F. Michael on 6/29/2009

I purchased the 7'' heavy bell a few weeks ago online hoping it would be decent. I can tell you with all honesty that it sounds just like the zil-bel, but it is way better because it's a third of the cost. If you play breakdowns, it provides the perfect 'ding' just right before going into the most brutal sounds your guitarists can muster. A very wise purchase for any drummer, but especially one on a budget.
