Just right for me

By

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass Guitar:

I had a VM Jaguar for a while, loved it! Then I realized that too small of a dude to play a full scale bass, so I sold that one and got this one. I think it's going to be perfect once I find the right strings.

Best SS for the $$

By

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass Guitar:

This bass is probably one of the higher end short scale models GC has to offer. The only other ones I can recollect are Ibanez Mikro basses, the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Bass Special SS, and an Epiphone SG EB-0. While all of those models are significantly cheaper, you would be doing yourself a favor in the long run by buying one of these. The only comparable short scale that GC has is the Jaguar. This bass still beats the Jaguar. I would list off all of the things better about this ss than the rest but everything about this bass is better than the other short scales. Go see for yourself. These things are just fun and little with a BIG sound.

Don't prejudge!

By

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass Guitar:

I've been wanting a short scale bass but didn't want to spend a lot. For years I'd been buying Epiphone guitars and basses without a second thought. After all Epi is a Gibson subsidiary. For some reason though, I turned my nose up at Squier even though it's a less expensive version of Fender. One day I ran into a used Squier Mustang bass at my local GC. I couldn't pass it up for the price. First of all, there wasn't a mark on it! The fit and finish was great and after adjusting the action and intonation, it played really well! I added a set of flatwound strings (my personal preference) and have been enjoying this bass ever since. The single pickup and tone control does not allow for a lot of tone variation at the guitar, but using the 6-band EQ on the amp, I can get pretty much any sound I want. RETHINK Squier and don't apologize for making an economical decision!

Great bass for the money.

Comments about Squier Vintage Modified Mustang Bass Guitar:

I had gotten this bass as a Christmas present recently. It's a very nice bass! The 3-color sunburst looks great, it has a comfortable neck (short scale), and the bass itself is very light. The tone is great (to me, anyway), it's got a good mid punch to it. The action was nearly perfect right out of the box (E string was a bit too low
