After more than a decade hiatus from playing I decided on this guitar to take a college class. And for its' cost this guitar is totally worth it! Neck is smooth, plenty of space on the fretboard, cradles easily on your knee when playing and it sounds as good as it looks. Absolutely love the dark sunburst finish on this guitar! I remember how hard it was to find an affordable good quality, beginner guitar back when I was in high school. It's nice to see how easy the internet has made things. My only gripe would be the strings that come with it are a little cheap. Get some Ernie Ball's when you get this and you cannot go wrong!!!
well its a very nice guitar it has a good feel to it but when it came in the mail the high E string sounded very weird (Note: im a beginner and still don't know why it sounds like that).... other then that its very nice overall ... but i recommend going to a local Guitar Center when you buy it so can at least make sure it's going to fit your needs
First off, the "Standard" part of the name should tell you this isn't an Affinity ( which is a lower model than the Standard line anyway). For all intents, this is a foreign made Fender Stratocaster similar to the USA Standard Strat. That said, it is a great guitar. The neck is smooth and comfortable with the same classic Fender neck curve. The body is Agathis, similar in quality to Alder ( used in USA Strats). The pickups aren't exactly Fender Noiseless USA's, but sound nice with a little of the classic single coil hum. They really do have a great sound for this price range. If you are starting out or want a backup / alternate axe, this is a great guitar backed by Fender. If you are a pro, you probably aren't looking at this review anyway. As a lefty, I know great affordable axes are rare, and Fender nails it on this model.
love the look and feel, its hard to fing guitars for left handed people these days..especally cheap :)
I ordered this guitar in-store last week thinking it was a superstrat but when I picked it up I realized it was only a stratocastor. They called the company and apparently the item has the wrong specifications. The specs are totally off. What I received was a standard strat instead of the affinity series. I'm not really complaining about the quality because it is actually better than the Affinity superstrat in terms of build quality. This one has the upgraded two point pivot tremlo system, alnico pickups, and a much better design on the body, with a deep red diamond speckled pick guard. I would give the quitar a higher score, unfortunately it was not what I ordered, and instead of returning it and having to choose a different guitar (I was told Squier does not make a left handed superstrat) I have decided to keep it anyways unless I can find a left handed superstrat for the same price. Other than that the description should be changed ASAP before they get more angry customers.
