Awesome guitar especially for the price

Cons

  • None

Best Uses

  • Jaming, gigging, learning, moding

Comments about Squier Standard Strat Limited Edition:

This is an excellent Squier Strat especially for the price! With full size and weight as the Fender Stratocaster. To me the alnico pickups sound better than the ceramic pickups in the Mexican Fender Stratocaster. They have a warm fat tone with traditional Strat sound. Sounds good clean and forties up real nice. The hardwood agathis body is a tonewood similar to mahogany. It's a great mod platform. Easy to change pickups. And parts are widely available.

Not a bad beginner guitar.

By Joexi

Comments about Squier Standard Strat Limited Edition:

I would recommend this to an aspiring guitarist fresh out of the gate looking for an axe to start with, but beyond that, I'd go with something else, such as a Strat. It doesn't remain clear when played at higher volumes, and it's pick ups don't seem to work as well as you'd expect from a Fender off-shoot. Overall, decent, but nothing to get excited about.

Good value

Comments about Squier Standard Strat Limited Edition:

I've been playing about 20 years and gig regularly. I actually use this guitar at the gigs, which is great given its price. I bought the cherry burst version. I used to own an American 57 remake strat, and this guitar sounds comparable. The bridge pickup tends to grate with distortion, but after I replaced it with a DiMarzio split coil (one that fits in the single coil slot) it sounds good. It has a nice feel, better than what you'd expect for the money. And it has a solid piece of wood for a body (not laminated)! Good lines and great finish. Setup not the best, but that wasn't a problem for me as I just adjusted it myself.

Ok for a beginner

By Beezy

Comments about Squier Standard Strat Limited Edition:

My friend has this guitar and I have messed around with it a lot over the years. Im not really sure what else is out there for such a low price but I would definetly look elsewhere. It goes out of tune all the time, and the pickups sound cheap. Im sure putting new pickups would help a little, but if you're going to spend more money on this guitar why not get a better one? Spend an extra 100 and get a schecter. Don't get me wrong, this is a good guitar for a beginner, but most people will grow out of this guitar fast and will be looking for something better.
