My Deluxe Strat is a pearl white July of '08 build, made in Indonesia. This has the smoothest neck I've ever felt. My left hand just glides up and down the satin finish. This neck is "wicked fast". The tone is amazingly superb and puts the higher priced Mexico and U.S.A. built Strats to shame. The "Duncan Designed" pickups need no upgrade. The craftsmanship of the guitar is superb, not a defect to be found anywhere. The frets are perfect, no sharp edges. Mine came out of the box like it had been "set-up" at the Fender Custom Shop by the most experienced tech, action was low and fast with absolutely no buzz. The paint/finish is gorgeous!!! This is a beauty and MUST be protected by a hard case, strap locks and with you life as once you get one you will NEVER want to put it down. You'll hate yourself if you ever drop or nick it, it's that great. I own two other axes, both are "Made in Indonesia" Squiers, a 2008 Squier Tele Custom, and a Squier '51. Both are excellent choices but for that "Strat" tone this is "IT". In the past year I've tried/tested/played guitars almost every two weeks, different brands, models, and scales. I tried all the made in Mexico, China, and U.S.A. Fender Strats but settled early on the Squiers made in Indonesia. My chief concern was the neck and the Squier Deluxe Stratocaster did not disappoint me like the others. Of those the Deluxe Stratocaster by Squier by Fender was by far my favorite. It's got the Fender Strat "feel", substantial in body, unsurpassed at it's price, excellent craftsmanship/construction and above all superior in tone. I find that the Tele Custom though a great guitar I hardly ever play. The Squier '51 with the dual coil humbucker at the bridge for the raunchier Joan Jett sound/tone is great, but the Deluxe outshines every other Fender Strat no matter what the cost that I've hung around my neck in the last year. It is hands down my favorite and that comes from a Tele/humbucker fan. If you purchase this axe you will never be disappointed. All three of my axes are Guitar Center buys, one I had shipped from Tennesse to NJ (Squier '51 bought used from a pic/image on the 'net). I never understood it but I now know what the "legend" of the fender Stratocaster is all about and if you get ones of these babies in your paws you'll know it too. This is a bonafide "sleeper" forget the Vibe, forget the Custom Shop, get the Squier by Fender Deluxe Stratocaster it WILL be a legend. Mine is to me.

The first one of these I ordered had some issues, like a gap between the neck and the body (I have seen this on Jackson's and AXL's), and the neck was raw unfinished wood. I went ahead and sent it back for an exchange figuring it was just a lemon, which happens here and there. So The replacement came today and there is again a gap between the neck and body, unfinished neck, and the neck itself seems to be set wrong and it has a horrible fret buzz. This is strike two...... I was impressed with the examples of this guitar that I had seen, and they have great reviews all over the internet. I have run into people who have these, and the guitar they have has a much better fit and finish, but they also purchased theirs a couple years back. So based on having two of these in a row show up with issues leads me to believe that there are some major quality control issues in the Indonesian factory that puts these out that doesn't seem to have been there when they first started making the Deluxe. Other than the fret buzz, the pickups sound great, the DD sc-101's have alnico V pole pieces which produce a thicker sound than the pups on my CV 50's with the alnico III's which I knew going in. But, over all I would have to say that the Squier CV 50's is a much better guitar in every way shape and form. (The CV 60's is way better too)So, if you are considering either a CV or Deluxe, go with one of the CV's, they are just way better guitars. At this point I don't know if I want to go through the hassle of another exchange...

Squier Deluxe Stratocaster

By D. Hutchinson

from Gainesville, GA

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about a month ago in the Daphne Blue finish. I remember back to when I first started playing, I got a cheap Squier Bullet Strat. And friends, let me tell you, this is one of the best Stratocasters i've played. I have alot of rich musician friends who play on the best, and I immediately removed the Squier decals off the headstock and replaced them with authentic Custom Shop replicas of the 1963 Fender Strat decals. They could not tell the difference. And quite frankly, I couldnt either. The tremolo works like a beast once you get that 3rd spring on. My Strat stays in tune with the heaviest of divebombs. But then again, I have .010 heavy gauge strings on it tuned to Eb. The finish was phenominal, and the aged knobs and pickups give it an awesome boost. The Seymour Duncan designed pickups play great. I tend to use either the 1st, 2nd or 4th pickup setting, and they all work great. I recommend this to any guitarist. ANY.

Awesome Surprise

By David Emswiler

from Bellville, TX

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I have had Japanese Strats from the mid-1980s and many other Tele and Strat guitars. This Indonesian built guitar is destined to have the same legendary reputation as the MIJ Strats from the mid-1980s and ... I may add ... ANY AMERICAN strat out there. It is just that good. The smooth neck and the thick sound coming from the pickups are huge, huge surprises. The daphne color...OH MY.

Great Buy!!!

By Tyler

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I was looking at many different guitars, and then I came across this Squier Deluxe Strat. Even though it's not a Fender, it still plays great, it has a great sound, and it feels really comfortable for me. When using the tremolo bar, it goes out of tune quite often. But I mostly play without it, so its not a problem for me. And it has 22 frets! Fenders with 22 frets are usually in the thousands. But you can get the exact same thing for a whole lot less! So if you're looking for a guitar that sounds great, plays great, and should definitely be within your budget, then take into consideration the Squier Deluxe Stratocaster.

Amazing

By Shawn

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

Having only ever 3 guitars, this is the best guitar I've owned. I bought the blue (which is a bit lighter in color in person than it appears) and it looks great espically having bought it in this color for a nod to George Harrsion's '61 Sonic Blue Strat. The neck has a consistent smoothness and no sharp or dead frets anywhere and has a nice feel. The pickups give that "Strat Tone" and will probably not need upgrade. As a side note, the pickguard/knobs don't look "aged" unless you compare it to white hardware. All I can say to sum it up is buy it and you won't be sorry. Again as a side note, I bought it online sight unseen and th customer service was great too, no complaints there either.

My first Fender

By Rick

from Rosamond,CA

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. This is my first experience with a Fender. My others are either Gibson or Epi's. The finish on this guitar is great and the neck is unbelievable. The setup was perfect right out of the box. My style of playing has changed over the years and it was time for some single coils. I would recomend this guitar to anyone either new or experienced. Thank you Fender.

Blew me away

By Habitz

from Kansas, Belleville

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar just yesterday and havent even had a full day to sit down with it. I bought it in pearl white. In the picture the actual finish looks a lil darker than the pickguard but the guitar itself is the same colore between the finish and the pickguard, kinda like an arctic white but i love it and i still have no regrets. It was a 2 hour drive to go and pick it up seeing as how i sent it from the online store to the nearest guitar center to me. I tried to have it set up the same day as i picked it up but the tech wastnt ganna be in till way later and i needed to start my 2 hour drive back home. So all in all i wasnt able to get a set up on it includeing the string changeing and adding another spring to the tremolo system. So i took it home bone stock and began to just tune it.After tuneing it for about 15 minutes or, sounds long i know, but you gatta let the strings stretch and what not. It stays in tune very very well, the action is perfect outta the box, the pickup height might need to be adjusted a lil and the intonation was perfect. All in all this guitar came outta the box bone stock and plays perfectly. It sounds amazing and i couldn't of asked for a better pick. I took a chance not haveing played one or ever sat down with one but it payed off big, i recommend this guitar to anyone begginer to intermediate even experts looking for a guitar to sit around with. I love it. The duncan designed pickups are amazing and the satin finish next is amazing...very recommended.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

Quility,Quality,Quality. If you really want a strat, you will love this one.I got the Pearl white metallic, though the Daphne blue is just as beautiful. The builders of these guitars take great pride in their work and it truly shows. If it didn't have the Squier decal you would swear it came from the Custom Shop.Yes,you will want a hardcase for this one,it deserves it.

Green, not blue

By Susie Pollard

from Crofton, MD

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I special ordered the Daphne Blue. I shopped around online and the pics made the body seem like a beautiful, light, robin's egg blue and the maple neck looked light blonde. When it arrived, the body looks green and the neck is darker and more yellow.

Excellent fit and finish, I was trying hard to find something I didn't like , but I can't. Frets are dressed perfect, action and intonation are great, electronics sound good, tuners are smooth and tight, knobs and switch feel good. This guitar was amazing right out of the box, and that was something I had never experienced before. Buy one you won't regret it.

This guitar is an amazing value. It is beautiful to look at and the quality is excellent. The guitar tech at GC did a quick set up out of the box and it plays so easily. This guitar is very solid and sounds great. If you didn't look at the Squier logo on the headstock you'd think you were holding a branded Fender that starts at twice the price. Even though this is a gorgeous guitar, there is one thing I'm going to change just because of personal taste. I'll be replacing the pick guard with one that is pearl white. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I originally started my guitar ownership by buying Fender products. This Daphne Blue Squier with the maple fretboard holds its own against any Fender I've ever owned for a significantly lower price. My objective was to try and capture the look of the old Sonic Blue strat through this guitar. It's on the cover one of my CD's in a live shot and looks great. Plays right along with the big boys just fine. My genre is rock, blues, some jazz-type rock styles.

        Great in Surf Green

        By RANDY ALLEN

        from Truckee, California

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

The blue one is actually much closer to Surf Green, which still looks really good, sounds great, keeps a tune. The frets could use some filing, but other than that, the setup was pretty good out of the box. I'm playing it out of a Fender Mustang II, so all those classic guitar sounds are at your finger tips by the switch of a knob. Great way to start. The guitar looks great, just like the one Clapton played on tour in 2010. That's probably why I bought it, since they did a lot of close-ups on his leads on the much more expensive Fender.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I have a 2016 chinese made Affinity Squier Strat, and just purchased this 2016 indonesian made Deluxe Squier Strat. If you are a beginner, the Affinity is great quality and ready to play out of the box for $100 less. I am mechanically/electrically inclined, and I had to adjust just about everything on this Deluxe Squier, and I've spent hours trying to get it just right and still not done yet. The only advantage of the Deluxe over the Affinity is a slightly smoother neck, great SD pickups, and 1/4" thicker body. But with an Affinity you don't have to spend $75 having a tech set it up. Do you want to spend $75 to setup a $300 guitar, and how much time will a tech actually spend on a cheap guitar. Also, the Deluxe has a 2-point floating tremolo, the Affinity a 6-point floating tremolo, which so far has kept in tune much better. In short, the Deluxe has better parts, but the Affinity is higher quality.

        By Maureen O'Donnell

        from Grand Island, New York

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

As a new guitar player, I was looking for something familiar to the style of music I listen to, which is punk rock/emo/alternative among others, but I've been dreaming of owning a Stratocaster for YEARS and as soon as I saw this it was immediately stuck in my mind. I probably looked at it for maybe 5 minutes before I decided it was the one. Now, a few weeks later, I can say that I have had NO problems with the guitar itself, although the D string broke about a week after I received it, but that's not a big deal, strings aren't expensive at all. After I started playing the guitar, I realized it was really good, and I've been able to play songs such as "My Orphan Year" by NOFX and Even If She Falls" by blink-182 with out any problems sound wise or playing wise. Overall, the guitar is a VERY good guitar and I recommend it to anyone with any interest in playing guitar.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I've never really been much of a Strat fan. I play Blues and classic Rock since way back, when it was current Rock. But I've always been a Humbucker guy. Particularly Semi Hollows and SG's. The Strat sound seemed too thin, and most of all, I hated the "classic" 6 screw trem bridge. It was too finicky of a system for the way I played. One of my bandmates (Fender player) recently got his USA Standard dropped down a flight of stairs by a bar back guy that was helping us unload the van. Since he always used a gig bag, the poor thing didn't stand a chance. Broke at the neck/body joint. I hate gig bags. For the gig he borrowed my Epi SG Pro because it has coil tap probuckers. Not exactly the same Strat sound, but it was an emergency. Few days later he showed up to practice with a Squier Deluxe. We gave him a hard time for "stepping down" from Fender USA. Razzing him that at least he could have bought a Mex or something lol. He started really singing the praises of the Squier Deluxe, and I took it for a few bars. I was immediately impressed with the sound. The Duncan Designed still had the same classic Strat sound, but it was far from thin. Very full bodied and powerful. The next thing that caught my attention was the neck finish. I absolutely hate a polyurinate finish on a neck. Oil rub or nitro only for me. I have sweaty hands and they stick to anything else. The finish on this neck almost seems like it's bare wood, but it isn't. It's a very light coat of satin something. I don't know if it's polyester, like the body, or perhaps a light coat of satin polyurinate. I don't know, but it felt very good. The tuners are top notch too. I was overall impressed by everything about this guitar. So much so that I went and bought my own. The consistency between guitars is excellent! My go to axe has been my Gibson Midtown for a long time. But now, unless I really need a HB sound, I am very proud to be playing my Squier Deluxe on stage! Great job Squier!!
