My Deluxe Strat is a pearl white July of '08 build, made in Indonesia. This has the smoothest neck I've ever felt. My left hand just glides up and down the satin finish. This neck is "wicked fast". The tone is amazingly superb and puts the higher priced Mexico and U.S.A. built Strats to shame. The "Duncan Designed" pickups need no upgrade. The craftsmanship of the guitar is superb, not a defect to be found anywhere. The frets are perfect, no sharp edges. Mine came out of the box like it had been "set-up" at the Fender Custom Shop by the most experienced tech, action was low and fast with absolutely no buzz. The paint/finish is gorgeous!!! This is a beauty and MUST be protected by a hard case, strap locks and with you life as once you get one you will NEVER want to put it down. You'll hate yourself if you ever drop or nick it, it's that great. I own two other axes, both are "Made in Indonesia" Squiers, a 2008 Squier Tele Custom, and a Squier '51. Both are excellent choices but for that "Strat" tone this is "IT". In the past year I've tried/tested/played guitars almost every two weeks, different brands, models, and scales. I tried all the made in Mexico, China, and U.S.A. Fender Strats but settled early on the Squiers made in Indonesia. My chief concern was the neck and the Squier Deluxe Stratocaster did not disappoint me like the others. Of those the Deluxe Stratocaster by Squier by Fender was by far my favorite. It's got the Fender Strat "feel", substantial in body, unsurpassed at it's price, excellent craftsmanship/construction and above all superior in tone. I find that the Tele Custom though a great guitar I hardly ever play. The Squier '51 with the dual coil humbucker at the bridge for the raunchier Joan Jett sound/tone is great, but the Deluxe outshines every other Fender Strat no matter what the cost that I've hung around my neck in the last year. It is hands down my favorite and that comes from a Tele/humbucker fan. If you purchase this axe you will never be disappointed. All three of my axes are Guitar Center buys, one I had shipped from Tennesse to NJ (Squier '51 bought used from a pic/image on the 'net). I never understood it but I now know what the "legend" of the fender Stratocaster is all about and if you get ones of these babies in your paws you'll know it too. This is a bonafide "sleeper" forget the Vibe, forget the Custom Shop, get the Squier by Fender Deluxe Stratocaster it WILL be a legend. Mine is to me.

The first one of these I ordered had some issues, like a gap between the neck and the body (I have seen this on Jackson's and AXL's), and the neck was raw unfinished wood. I went ahead and sent it back for an exchange figuring it was just a lemon, which happens here and there. So The replacement came today and there is again a gap between the neck and body, unfinished neck, and the neck itself seems to be set wrong and it has a horrible fret buzz. This is strike two...... I was impressed with the examples of this guitar that I had seen, and they have great reviews all over the internet. I have run into people who have these, and the guitar they have has a much better fit and finish, but they also purchased theirs a couple years back. So based on having two of these in a row show up with issues leads me to believe that there are some major quality control issues in the Indonesian factory that puts these out that doesn't seem to have been there when they first started making the Deluxe. Other than the fret buzz, the pickups sound great, the DD sc-101's have alnico V pole pieces which produce a thicker sound than the pups on my CV 50's with the alnico III's which I knew going in. But, over all I would have to say that the Squier CV 50's is a much better guitar in every way shape and form. (The CV 60's is way better too)So, if you are considering either a CV or Deluxe, go with one of the CV's, they are just way better guitars. At this point I don't know if I want to go through the hassle of another exchange...

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a week now and it is awesome! The set up right out of the box is perfect, no fret buzz, all the frets are dressed, intonation excellent. The build quality is great, tuners are tight and work well, knobs and switch feel solid, and the Duncan Design pickups sound great! I just played for 2 hours stretching strings and banging on this thing and when I checked the tuning it was still spot on. Mine is white, I love it, Buy one.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

Upon delivery I picked the guitar up and plugged in. First impression was how awesome the cleans were. The pickups seem to be geared towards the lower mid range and they sound excellent. You can still get that single coil twang and the strat quack with some simple eq adjustment. I love the neck. I'm not sure if it's unfinished or if it has a satin finish but either way there's no gloss to slow you down. Tuning stability may be the only issue I have but a fender roller but should fix that easily.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

This guitar did not fail to disappoint. Supposedly a level 1 returned item, it had a hole as big as a dime clear down to the wood on the heel of the guitar. Almost every fret had buzz. The Duncan designed pickups were flat and muddy sounding. Go for the Squire Standard Strat - everything great on this one!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I sold my mexican Fender because this guitar was way better than it. The pickups on this guitar are just very stratty in my opinion. The "quack" positions really pop and my Mexican did not have the same sound. I also prefer the modern bridge with the block saddles. 22 frets instead of 21. I also love the satin feeling neck and the lack of gloss on the fretboard. Only con would be that the nut isn't amazing but I got the guitar brand new not too long ago and sometimes they need time to break in.

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I've owned Mexican and American Standard Strats and sold or traded them. After reading numerous reviews online, I bought this to get back the Strat tone I'd been missing. Needless to say I'm NOT disappointed. The fit and finish are flawless on this beautiful Daphne Blue guitar. Neck feels great without fret issues. Tone and Volume controls work as they should and the Duncan Designed pickups sound great. I did some minor adjustments to taste for action height and intonated the guitar, but other than that, it was pretty good right out of the box. I'm thoroughly impressed with the guitar and very pleased with the purchase!

Comments about Squier Deluxe Strat Electric Guitar:

I recently bought a blem Squier Deluxe from MF to perform my first lefty flip. This was my first foray into the world of Fender (all other guitars have been Gibsons or Epis) and I decided flipping a Squier would be a fun project without breaking the bank.

The guitar arrived and I was expecting some nasty finish defects to justify the 30% price reduction but there were none to be found. The pearl white is beautiful and the build quality far surpasses the price point. If you can get over the fact that the headstock doesn't have "Fender" on it, you're gonna love this thing! It does everything that a Stratocaster should do AND this one already has a 22-fret neck and a super stable 2-point trem system. Trem action is silky smooth and it always seems to come back properly. After getting it all setup for left-handed playing it's been hard to put the thing down. It's got all the chime and twang you could want clean, and it dirts up nicely when you want it to.

For potential flippers, the nut slid out easily with a couple taps from a hammer and blunt nail setting spike. Then it's just a matter of getting the strap button moved to the lower horn and setting the intonation. The intonation screws in the bridge have more than enough adjustment to accommodate the flip. The whole setup job took about an hour including stringing and playing with the floating bridge springs.

What are you waiting for? Break the chains of brand snobbery and get one of these already!

It's a nice looking guitar. I bought it for my 14 yr old daughter. I guess I should have gotten her a real Strat because that's what she's used to having in her hands, Strat, SG 2000, PRS Santana. It feels cheap. I hate to be negative. I understand it's a beginner's guitar. That's why I bought it but if anyone needs a guitar to stay in tune, it's a beginner. Not your issue. It's Fender's issue. Apparently one they aren't going to correct. Too many people have expressed the same concerns.
