Can't beat the price

By Mark Hunter

Comments about Squier Cyclone Electric Guitar:

First off, this is a really well built and balanced guitar. The Tremolo isn't the typical cheap Squier part, it's as solid as the MIM. The fret board out of the box felt good, with a few minor adjustments felt great. The pickups are also decent, with no major complaints. The knobs are classy, the finish is top-notch, machine heads need replaced as usual with any squier. Second, the sound was equally surprising, the tone knobs actually change the tone, and the volume knob works great with any tube amp. Solid sound all around. Overall, I'm very impressed with this guitar. I work on hundreds of Squiers a year, and haven't owned one myself until the cyclone.

Comments about Squier Cyclone Electric Guitar:

I received my Lake Placid Blue Cyclone last week, and I would have to say I'm pretty impressed by this little guitar. Bought it as a guitar I could learn how to setup without caring if I accidentally messed it up, but it didnt really need a setup. The action was a little high but not unplayable. The intonation was dead on. The frets weren't sharp and don't appear to need filing. The only thing that was the tremolo was setup to lie flat like a hardtail so I'll change it back to floating. The finish is beautiful and the stock photo isn't even close to it's true color. Use google images to find a better pictures of the colors. The back of the neck is sort of an ugly pale color though, but I will get some amber neck tint to darken it up. The neck is lightning fast and smooth. It sounds very typically Fender to me (I have 3 American Strats and a Jazzmaster). The stock pickups aren't awesome but are better than I expected. It's definetly doesn't weigh as much as a strat. Basically its an upgraded Mustang without the things I hate about Mustangs (basswood or poplar body, mustang tremolo, large cbs headstock, slider switches that gash fingers). Its a really neat guitar at a great value, that was a special factory run for for GC and MF. So once it's gone it may never be back...

Perfect Scale!

By Susan Kawalerski _

from Coral Gables, Florida

Comments about Squier Cyclone Electric Guitar:

I am very impressed with the Squier Cyclone, so far. The shorter scale neck and radius are perfect for my reach and hand size. This is a great design for women or men with smaller hands. The satin finish on the neck is also perfect for ease of playing. I'm experiencing some tuning problems right now, perhaps because the strings are still new and stetching. The guitar goes out of tune after a couple of riffs and whenever I use the tremolo arm. That's why I'm not giving this a 5-star review, just yet. We'll see if the tuning settles down. The pickups are okay for my level of playing (I'm an accoustic guitarist who is just beginning to play electric). The neck pickup seems a little weak. The bridge pickup is pretty hot. I have a lot of experimenting to do especially with the Vox Valvetronic amp I'm plugging it into. The guitar itself is finished beatifully. Frets may not be as smooth as a more expensive guitar, but, no need for any work either. I have the Lake Placid blue with the pearl pickguard - it's beautiful! Very comfortable to play and it doesn't feel heavy like a Telecaster or Stratocaster. I am very pleased with this purchase and the price is below what this guitar looks and sounds like. Beginner or intermediate players will love this guitar! Maybe even more expert players depending on their pickup preferences!

thin sounding

By John Willison

Comments about Squier Cyclone Electric Guitar:

ok this is a low cost guitar but it has good wood body good neck to start with . easy to upgrade I did replace the neck pickup with a hot rail 10k output fits in a single coil opening . put in 2 new pots 500k cts , new cap uf 047 pls new strings 9-44 flats . so it was very thin sounding with way to much high end , now great lows , very good mids and just right highs and who put them junk knobs on this thing replace them also , turner are ok . so put in about 50.00 into it and you got a way cool looking a great sounding guitar
