Overview

The Classic Vibe Precision Bass '70s delivers the true Precision Bass experience. Huge tone roars from its traditional split-single-coil pickup. The contoured basswood body, is familiar and comfortable, and the vintage-tint gloss-maple neck has 20 vintage-style frets with block inlays and a modern 9.5" radius.

It is a powerful '70s-style model that evokes the instrument's look and vibe from that musically adventurous era. The smartly alluring all-black look of the Classic Vibe Precision Bass '70s extends to the pickguard, the finger rest and, in a stylish touch, the binding and block inlays on the maple fingerboard. The split-single-coil pickup delivers classic Precision muscle, and the Hi-Mass bridge with brass "barrel" saddles keeps intonation rock solid-all with terrific Squier value.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

I am basically a guitar player but wanted a decent Bass to tool around on and become a better musician without spending an arm and a leg. This Bass fits the bill perfectly. Don't let the Squire name or the "made in China" label deter you. I had my doubts too, until I got it in my hands. Fit and Finish are excellent. I changed out the strings to D'Addario medium flatwound strings and did some minor set up and it plays very smoothly. If you are a player that does not like a heavy varnish finish on the neck you may not like this bass. Also if you will be recording or playing Gigs with it, you may also consider changing out the pickups, otherwise this is a great bass for the price! My only other complaint is that I wish Fender made this in other colors, other than Black. The Black version is fine looking, but I already own numerous black guitars. Some color options, like white and/or sunburst would be a nice choice.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

If it was any better they would have to put the Fender name in big letters on the headstock and not call it a Squier at all. I may yet upgrade the pickup but I'm amazed how good it sounds and it's hard to find a single thing that would get lower marks than my "real Fenders".

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

I did some mods to my bass, first was replacing the pick ups. I have some Model P's put in it. Then I also sanded the neck (Personal preference nothing wrong with how it was originally). But when I used to teach music parents would ask me what bass they should get their kids and I honestly recommend this one. It's cheap and good. I also take it out on tour. I might not use it in the studio but It's perfect for live shows.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

I love buying Vintage Modified Squiers and when I saw this bass I had to have it. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders and it sounds better and more robust than my American P-Bass with the same pickups. This bass is beautiful and has become my go to bass ahead of my Schecter Riot 4 and my American P-Bass. Squier has found its niche and if you hunt you can certainly find a diamond that won't break the bank - of course you can always save your pennies and spend more but - why!!!

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

I use this bass for practicing, gigging and recording. I started practicing with this bass straight out of the box with the stock strings and all. I set it up to my preference and brought it to practice and I was just amazed at the feel and sound of this bass. Whether I played finger, pick or slap style it just sounded great all around. The 70's style maple neck is so smooth and the quality of the wood gives the bass a unique sound that I really like. I also really like the style of this bass with the black body and chrome hardware with the bridge cover plate. The electronics are solid and the stock pick up is not that bad (although I plan to replace with some Lindy Fralin's). The vintage style high mass bridge keeps the instrument in tune and is very easy to adjust. The best part is you get all of these great features for less than $400.

This bass is one of the best Squires, imo.
I put quarter pounders in it and it roars. It's all good now.
            It's a no brainer, hello.

Comments about Squier Classic Vibe '70s Precision Bass:

I am really impressed with this instrument. The neck is heavily lacquered, which may or may not be your thing, but it's extremely well-made and easy to play with a good set-up. I replaced the pickup with a Dimarzio Model P, and the thing is a midtone monster! The basswood body accentuates low mids in a way that only basswood can, and the upgraded pickups give me massive lows and mids like my precision bass can eat other precision basses. Don't get me wrong--the stock pickup is probably as good as any Mexican-made Fender. I'm just not crazy about it. That was the only upgrade this thing needed--on some of my other guitars, I've replaced the pickups, bridge, and tuners, but those are fine with this one. I get compliments on the bass and its tone all the time from musicians who have spent several hundred dollars more on their instruments. Excellent buy!
