Having played over 35 years at clubs, bars, recording studios, festivals and house parties I learned a long ago to not judge a guitar by brand name or price tag. I've shoped small music stores that have a selection of long forgotten cheap electrics -- and impressing other musicians with the top of the line Fender or Gibson isn't my thing.

I go by one thing. Ok, maybe 2. Most importantly, how does it sound when I play my old school blues and swamp blues? If it's a slightly sick puppy, does it feel right and can I fix what's ailing it? Then again, I don't rip up and down the neck as fast as I can like I'm playing endless exercises from a Mel Bay Metal RIffs instruction Book. I'm play where each note MEANS something. |

I bought the Silver Sparkle Bullet Strat HH. After years of having full bands, I now sing and play electric and solo. Think John Lee Hooker or Lightning Hopkins or even Tony Joe White sitting on a stool. It had a cool Blues look, thanks to the Silver Sparkle finish.

One of the great guitar technicians in GC at the store I live next to, Mark, made sure the intonation and neck and such were right. I had a set of locking tuners put on. The guitar jack which more than occasionally horrid on the Squire was replaced the first week. The stock pickups? Worked fine. With Humbuckers, the solid sound low and full -- not single coils which just don't work for my music as I play solo, as I've said. No problems with sharp frets and fingers. (Remember, no shredding allowed) Neck hasn't moved a bit from being adjusted to perfect.

Looking for a guitar that will impress other musicians (you probably leave the price tag dangling from the headstock) look elsewhere. If you think the guitar and not the player makes the music, move on, nothing more to see here. But if you go by the sound and the feel and you're playing for an audience? Go forth and make music.

Sorry to say orders were mixed up. I got a really bad (Paint on body was severely cracked 4 times all the way around the around the entire guitar body ). After further inspection the guitar neck, fret board and frets were severely worn. So I was sent a really bad, USED guitar. Called customer service, everything was taken care of . I just now have to wait to get a new one I ordered.

Great Buy!

By Deann

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

I just got the Silver Sparkle this morning. Plays great, sounds great. I was really suprised. To have a Squier with just 2 humbuckers is really nice...no noise. It's very light weight. It has a "satin/NON-glossy" back of the neck...which I like. Frets are NOT sharp. For 89$, it is sooo worth it! I got the Silver to go with my Dan-Elektro("Gary Glitter") Lol. So this will be Gary "Junior" :). All 3 colors looked really nice. I picked mine up in-store(Omaha), the guys there are really cool. Ordering on line has ALWAYS been good too. Everything is always well packaged, on time etc.. Thanks again "GC"

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

I was looking for an electric that I could bum around with, and not worry about dinging it up. Great reviews for this Squire, so I figured "why not"? This guitar was ready to play, out of the box!! The action was PERFECT, but what really blows my mind is that it stays in tune for a LOOOONG time. If you want a cheap guitar (but solid), look no further. Great starter for someone just getting into guitar. You may want to upgrade the strings when you get it too.

Great Guitar

By Karl

from Lynnwood, WA

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

This Guitar is very good at any price. The best part is the neck. Not one high fret, fret ends have no sharp edges, the back is sealed but no finish and feels excellent, it is pretty thin similar to Ibanez Wizard profile. I have way too many guitars but I can tell you the majority of them came with some kind of fret issues out of the box, regardless of price or manufacturer. Another great thing about this guitar is no ground humming when you plug it in to an amp. An annoying issue many guitars have out of the box, regardless of price. The finish on the body also excellent no flaws. The weakest part of this guitar is the tuners, they work put are not great. The tremolo comes cranked tight to the body and for beginners or someone who rarely uses the trem is perfect because vintage trems like this one need to be setup properly to function correctly. Out of the the box the general setup was playable but needed adjustment, like almost all new guitars do. The nut was set high but nothing crazy, better too high than too low. The stock humbuckers sound quite good for OEM's. The neck is not muddy at all and the bridge has a little bite to it. The volume and tone controls work very nice at taming things and are more effective than most. The Pup's are on the bright side but not ice picky like some OEM's and are actually quite good. After a basic setup this guitar plays and sounds good at any price. Better than a lot of guitars costing much more.

WHERE WAS THIS STUFF WHEN I WAS A KID!!!!!!!!!

By carl

from Kirksville Ky

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

Seriously, where was this kind of instrument when I was a kid? For this money 20 years ago you got a used beat up junker that you were lucky if someone set it up right. I bought the silver sparkle model planning to gut it and use the neck & body to soup up. However, this guitar is great out of the box. The finish is beautiful. The quality is very nice. Plays great. The lead pickup sounds great. The only thing I will be changing will be the neck pick up ( to dark and bassy for me ) and the plain white pickguard to a pearloid one. And really I am only making these changes because I am being picky. For the money you can not beat this guitar.

    WOW!!!!

    By Ralph

    from Philly, Pa

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

I purchased this Squire Bullet Strat HH in blue sparkle about two weeks ago when it was on sale for $84.00 I got it primarily to use with my Roland GR1 Synth, as I was tired of putting on and taking off the synth from my more expensive guitars. (None of my guitars would fit in their case with the Synth pick up on). I figured, "for 84 bucks, who cares if it sits out on a guitar stand"? Let me tell you, for $84, I'm shocked at the high quality of this instrument. As stated in previous reviews, the finish looks great, the frets are smooth with no sharp edges, the neck is straight with a very nice extremely easy playing Rosewood fret board, which is easily accessible up to the twenty first fret, no dead spots and easy bends throughout the entire fretboard. The humbucker pickups are absolutely silent with regard to hum or buzz when plugged in to an amp. To me, they sound more like fat single coils than humbuckers, without the hum. The selector switch is three position, not 5 like most Strat's: Neck, Neck/Bridge, Bridge. The neck PU gives you that round, hollow sound; think Hendrix's "The Wind Cry's Mary". The middle position, i.e. both PU's, gives you that "out of phase sound": think Jackson Brown's " Doctor My Eyes", and the bridge PU gives you that sharp, biting edge tone, somewhere between a Strat bridge and a traditional Gibson bridge Humbucker. Most of all, this guitar plays fantastic! Tuned to a perfect A 440, the strings are slightly more slack than on my 2000 American Deluxe Strat, which allows you to grab that R&B, Hendrix thing that I love. I can't believe this guitar was made overseas! To this point, I've only played it through my Line 6, Spider III, 15 Watt amp. SOUNDS KILLER! I don't gig any more, but would love to crank this Strat through my Fender 100 Watt Twin! To clarify, I'm not saying this guitar compares with my vintage Fender or Gibson guitars. I'm saying for 84 bucks, or it's current GC price of $149.99, this guitar is FANTASTIC!

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

I was looking for some good humbuckers on a budget, and if you want the same, look no further. I read other reviews of this guitar asking, "why doesn't this thing cost like five times this much?" and honestly, I'm wondering that now myself. Excepting the tuning machines, this Bullet Strat doesn't feel cheap at all. The neck is quite good, and the pickups sound much better than I expected. This is a really good guitar, period.

    Wonderfull

    By Darryl

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

I bought this guitar because the price was very good. Not Knowing what to expect. This guitar rates a 10 on my list. Its easy to handle, the price is awesome, and it shreds extremely good. Easy to tune, and the output pickups work excellent. One thing I can say is get the whole guitar professionally tuned and you will go right to strumming the blues or playing your rockin riffs flawlessly. I never wrote a review before but I love this guitar. :)

Comments about Squier Bullet Strat HH with Tremolo:

Great guitar, don't let the low price fool you. I bought it about 3 months ago, and have played it daily. It required some adjustments when I first got it (truss rod, bridge) but now it plays like a dream. Great action, nice tone, stays in tune reasonably well. Mine is the red sparkle, its a beautiful glossy metalflake. Much better guitar than the Epiphone of same price range (I have both).
