So here it goes. The tuners are tight and 2 of them had to be screwed in so they would be up close to the wood and no longer crooked. The neck was too straight and had to be ajusted with a little curve so the strings would not fret out. The strings had to be lowered as I don't like them real high. The tremelo was up tight against the body and not useable. I found 1 of the 2 screws that hold the bracket for the tremelo springs was tightened very far into the body because it had been stripped except for the end, this screw had to be replaced so the tremelo could be ajusted for use. The tremelo arm is thicker in diameter than most and this one was horizontal to the body when in place so it had to be adjusted to be useable for me. Some of the screws that hold the pick guard are in crooked so the edge of the screws sticks up. The pickups height needed adjusting so the volume would be balanced. If you like a really bright humbucker sound, then this bridge pickup is for you, it stays bright on the tone knob except for a small section of the ajustment area. I like the feel of this guitars neck and find it very comfortable, but I had several guitars to pick from in the store and found alot of variability between them. I picked this guitar up for the special price and am hoping to enjoy it for a long time.

For the money it's a good guitar.

By George

from Charlotte, NC

I have always been a sucker for Squier guitars. Now I own two and they are my favorite guitars that I play. Based on the price I was shocked at how good this guitar sounded and play. The neck is fairly thin which is one of the big things I look at when buying a new guitar. It did require a bit of setting up to get it just right. I had to replace the strings and adjust the truss rod. The intonation was perfect so it required no adjustment at all. My only grip is the tuners are extremely cheap. I call it a "dead spot" on one of the tuners because I can turn it almost a quarter turn before it affects the tuning. Definitely going to pick up a new set of tuners eventually. Maybe it's because it is new but this, at the moment, is my favorite guitar to play. It was well worth the money.

Squier Bullet HH Metallic Orange

By William

from Charlotte, NC

I was actually waiting for months to get the Metallic Orange guitar. They happened to get in stock just in time for the Memorial Day sale. So, I got enough of a discount that I decided to buy two of them. They both look fine, no visible issues. The first one's neck was bowed a touch. No problem with a slight turn of the Allen wrench provided. Tuned up nicely. The intonation is slightly off on the higher frets, so I will need to adjust a little. I have not tuned up the second one yet. Both of them have slightly sharp frets, but I have a good file set to take care of that. Overall, I am quite pleased with these guitars. They look great and play very nicely. A beginner will probably need someone to help with the minor issues I stated.

Just Beautiful

By Michael

from Chicago, IL

The last three Indonesian built guitars that I bought required zero setup and were flawless. The Squire did require some setup but the end result was certainly worth the effort. The frets needed no dressing but the truss rod was loose and the intonation wasn't set. I set up the tremolo as per Carl Verheyen and used Nut Sauce at all string contact points. As other reviewers have noted, the humbuckers still produce the signature Strat sound. Thanks Guitar Center for another great holiday deal. Plays, looks and sounds great.

Not bad, not great. Good value

By g scott marlowe

from Scott Marlowe, Denver CO

The things I like about this guitar are that it has a good sound, is very playable with minimum setup work, and I didn't have to do any insane setup work like filing out the nut for a better fit or re-fitting the neck and so on. What I disliked about it was two things really, and both reflect shoddy build quality at the factory. If you pick up this guitar by the neck, near the body, and let it slide down in your hand it will literally tear the skin between your thumb and palm with the frets sticking up and roughly finished. A file and some hours of work fixes this but honestly no guitar, no matter how cheap, should leave the shop like that. The other problem was that it felt like a box in a guitar an 8 year old put together with little or no attention to detail. Two of the pots were loose, the screw for the 1/4" jack was loose, two of the pick guard screws weren't all the way in, and one of the rear plastic guard screws was stripped out (toothpick shim to the rescue!) Don't get me wrong. If you've got a couple hours to spend on it and know how to fix these things it's a GREAT deal on a great sounding guitar for cheap. But I wouldn't buy this for a beginner because there are too many things wrong with it for a beginner to deal with. Spend a couple hundred more no a slightly better guitar there. Note that sound on this thing is very good. Reminds me of my brother's 1970s Gibson SG custom with just a little less power. PLayability once the neck is adjusted and the frets cleaned up is VERY strat-like and smooth and easy. But honestly they should just ship it disassembled to save you some work of taking it apart the first time to get it all setup right.

Amazing guitar for an Amazing price!!

By Saul Rivera

from Azusa, CA

I had been looking for a Strat style guitar for a while now. I have tested out many of them at different Guitar Center stores and just loved the look, feel, and sound of them. The only thing holding me back was the price. When I saw this Squier Bullet Strat HH online it looked exactly like what I was looking for! The price being on sale for $99 was too good to be true. I was a bit hesitant though. The guitar being a "Squier" and not a Fender. I decided to do some research. I read hundreds of reviews from different websites. I didn't really see any bad reviews. The only re-occuring review I saw was that it required adjusting. I went down to my local Guitar Center and tested it out. I was blown away! The color I wanted wasn't available in store so I went home and immediately ordered it from the Guitar Center website. It arrived a week later and I immediately unwrapped it and plugged it in. Instant gratification!! It felt great, sounded great, and did not require any adjustments at all!! I am a Squier man for life now!! Thank you!!

A very good starter guitar

By M W

from Upstate NY

I bought this Squier Bullet HH model solely because it was metallic orange and on sale. The orange finish is very nice, and worth the sale price alone. I have other strats, including and American Standard, and I don't believe the other reviewers when they say "this Bullet is better!" In its stock form, the humbucker pickups are OK. Not great, but OK. I had some upgrade humbuckers in a pickguard waiting when this guitar arrived. The one that I received had some rough fret ends that I was able to smooth with a fret end dressing file. The tuning machines worked, and held their tuning, but were very difficult to use -- hard to turn, and imprecise. I've ordered a new set and will be upgrading those as well. Don't get me wrong, I really like this Squier, now that I've upgraded it and worked on it a bit. I'm glad I bought it, because I'm able to modify it to make it what I want it to be for an extra $60 in parts. If I were a new player, I'd save up and buy a higher quality Strat, like a Squier Classic Vibe or a Fender Standard Strat.

Good bang for the buck!!!

By john stebbins

from Coventry, CT

You cant beat this for the price. If your just starting out or a veteran. I have had all kinds of guitars threw the years and although i wouldn't use this to play out,it is great to have around the house to mess around with with out wearying about it getting dinged up or scratched up. And if you are a beginner its a great guitar to get started on!!!

By Isabel Guzman

When I took this out of the box and plugged it into my amp, not only did it look nice, but it gave off an amazing sound.! I was really surprised at the great quality of this guitar, and what made it better was that I played it with my Fender guitar picks.! Fender+Squier= Mind Blown Off o:
