Brilliant

By PaulCarbonella

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

It is an excellent guitar, not only for beginners, but for experienced players, too. Beginners: Don't get the regular Strat. Get this. It's better. Every tone I wanted on this thing, I got. It's also great with distortion. Best Squier I have ever played.

Rocks hard but, easy on the wallet!

By Strat Gone Bad

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

My fiancee bought me this guitar just before X-mas, for my birthday. What an amazing guitar. The quality of this axe is awesome. The only complaint i had was the tuners were somewhat cheap. I quickly swapped them ot with Fender locking tuners, which solved the tuning issue. It plays really great. And the humbucker really growls and sings when ran dirty. I highly recommend this guitar.

incredible guitar

By Michael

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

around christmas i was looking for a black guitar that had a mirror pickguard on it and i was gonna get a yamaha pacifica and get a mirror pickguard. the guy at the store showed me this and i was excited. i played it and it was pretty nice so i got it. its an amazing guitar. great tone keeps tune very well, its got a whammy bar, and its 22 frets. the pickguard may be mirror but it doesnt scratch easily. it plays just as good as it looks. bottom line: amazing guitar highly recommended. only down side is the string height is a little high but its still good you might wanna get it fixed eventualy.

Good for beginers

By mayerfan123

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

This is a good place to start if your looking for a first electric. I got it in January as my first, and I'm learning on it now. Its kinda built for inde or Metal music but I'm aming for bluesy. Pros: Very sleek looking guitar It has a comfortable feel to it. good distortion. Cons: Kinda low quality pickups Metallic pickguard gets scratched easily overall great guitar for a beginner . I suggest it highly. But in the future I plan to replace the pickguard and nobs with white ones and change the pickups to Texas Specials.. but for now I just need to learn :D

My kinda guitar!

By Adrian Ace

from Fresno,CA

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

This guitar rocks my world! I've been wanting a strat with a heavy sound to plug in to my Fender DSP effect amp for a sound that fits me. I was hoping I didn't get the SSS version cause I was unsure. But this guitar blew me away, also because it's a squire! The sound is brilliant, with the neck single sound for a very acoustic like feel, and a filthy Rock N Roll pick up at the bridge. And I'm lovin' the whammy. This is my second guitar and I'm gonna say this one's gonna be with for a long time!

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

i have had this guitar for about a year and a half and its been a very good guitar. the only bad thing that happened so far is the jack fell out, thats it. it also has a great tremolo bridge. i would recomend this guitar for beginers and some intermediate players. i played in a show, and its very reliable.

good but

By stratman

from pocatello Idaho

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a great players guitar, nice fast neck and good overall sound quality but build quality isn't up to par with other Squiers I've had. Mine has a sub-par black paintjob on it and the mirror pickguard has a mottled finish on its surface, it's fine for a less expensive guitar but the fit/finish reflects it's "Made in Malaysia" origin. Good sound, excellent playability but Squier needs to focus a bit more on the fit and finish of this "flashy" guitar.

By MRJimcoMustache

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I tried out this guitar in the store, I compared to to a regular Squier Strat and the fat strat sounded better, it handled the distortion with out all of the buzzing. I would recomend it to begginners or some one who needs a good guitar for cheap.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I have been looking for a good guitar for our band and I think this is the one! The price is also very good for a full-size. I don't think anyone could ever not have one of these in a great modern band.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I just brought this guitar a few weeks ago and my goodness it sounds great, I did a few upgrades on it, I put on some new strings added me some fender locking tuners and made a few adjustments to the neck and bridge, what more can i say, this is the forth guitar that I have brought I have 2 other Squiers and an Ibanez and I am totally satified with this guitar, I just can't explain the sound that it puts out, I'm using the Line 6 150amp along with the FBV express pedal...

Stunning sound with stunning beauty

By jleasure24

from Stoutsville, Ohio

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

Right out of the box this guitar lookes ten times more beautiful in person than on here, and on-line i thought its looks were to die for. This guitar has the quality of any fender that ive played, its hard to tell the difference between the two anymore, these squires are getting almost as nice as the fenders. I love the fact that it is a fat strat and has that humbucker pickup, it makes the sound so crisp and nice. Don't hesitate to purchase this guitar. Whether you are a novice or have played for a while. You'll be happy you did.

Decent guitar for beginners

By Nick S.

from Fort Worth, TX

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for less than nine months and it is starting to fall apart. The bridge is coming off, no matter how many times i tighten it, the pickups are faulty, and the plugin jack has fallen out. it is decent for beginners, but not for anything else.

Needs Work

By DoverOs

from Walnut Creek, CA

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

Decent guitar. I had to set up all the saddles at first and adjust the trem springs which took way too long. It buzzes too much, and the 9.25 inch fretboard is slow and removes the fun of having a fast rosewood board. Pick ups are nice though. Make sure the guitar is setup right before you buy it.

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I have high end guitars and I like to tinkle with guitars and modify them. This guitar sounds good out the box. I'm thinking how far can i go with this guitar. It's well made nice bridge tuners are good no fret buzz even when I lowered them. I'm going to make this a metal machine!!!

By far best value for money

    By john

Comments about Squier Black and Chrome Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I own several Fender strats and teles and have been playing since the 70's. I bought this as my first HSS guitar and I was really impressed right out of the box. I had a guitar technician work on it, make new adjustments and it's my favorite guitar. I decided to save on the front end by buying this one for $225 instead of another American made etc. for $1000 and then put those saved funds into electronic adjustments like better pickups. Imagine buying a sports car and buying after market products and customizing it. This guitar sounds better than all my more expensive fenders and I love the satin neck. I hate to varnish finishes as it takes away from the feel through your fingers and palm in the neck. The satin neck will be like a wooden salad bowl, over time absorbing your palm sweat making it yours. Satin gives for much faster action anyway. The 22 fret neck is perfect and smooth. The new Seymour Duncan Humbucker plus singles stack up my guitar with many high end models. I'm also able to get a larger variety of sounds out of it like any strat. The metal tele knobs are also a real plus. I can't understand why Fender has been using cheap plastic knobs for decades while their teles have had nice metal knobs. This guitar is a keeper for advanced player as well. Forget the logo on the stock. This one sounds as good as $1000 strats right out of the box, let alone with my changes. I love this guitar so much that I bought a second one.
