I bought this bass when i started playing, and at the time i thought it sounded great, when i didn't know any better. The tone controls barely affect the sound, and the input had to be repaired two weeks after i started playing it. It's good for beginners, but if you wanna get serious you'll have to find something much better.

The most I could ask for at this price

By whitney

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

I am still a beginner bass player, I do not take lessons, but I learn by myself. This is a great bass, the only problem I have with it is that it gets out of tune easily. But for the price, it's awesome.

Perfect, for what it is

By The Machine

from Dayton Texas

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

First of all, this bass shouldn't be compared with high dollar, professional level basses, because it ain't one. But it's great at what it is, an entry level short scale bass. I play a Fender Jazz bass in my church and with a band on the side. My son, like most boys, wants to emulated Daddy. So he asked for a bass. I bought him this bass for his 8th birthday. Okay, it doesn't make the same sound as a Fender Jazz. It's low register is a bit muddy sounding, but this is a SHORTSCALE bass. There's a reason why Gibson's shortscale basses weren't ever a real threat to Fender's full size basses. The standard 34" neck of Fender's P bass set the standard for the entire industry. Even Jack Bruce plays a full scale bass these days. Don't compare apples to oranges and you'll find this to be one sweet little orange.

Not just for beginners

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

This is a great bass for beginners, but really, anyone can play it. This is a very comfortable, great sounding and great playing bass. I may buy more basses in the future, but the Bronco will remain my primary instrument.

great bass

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

I have had this bass since i was young. Which was perfect for me. Not to heavy and the neck is shorter which made it easier to play. it hasnt changed since. overall, it is a great bass for a good price. It satisfies most of my needs to play and stays in great shape after years of playing.

SOLID first bass

By John Johnson

from Anaheim, CA

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

I have had this bass for 2 years and am very impressed with the quality of this bass for the price of $150. This bass stays in tune fairly well and can take some pretty hard hits. You will not sacrifice any tonal quality with the 30 inch neck. The neck of this bass is not as wide as similar priced basses so it makes playing easier. It would be better if Fender could make this bass with a couple more frets but I can't complain. The only problem I have had is that the input jack falls through the faceplate. If you are wanting to start bass, then this bass is for you. Go buy this bass and slap some better strings on it. However, if you are putting 34' strings on this bass that are medium light or thicker in gauge, you will have to be careful as the tuning post on the E string is not wide enough for the string.

good starting bass

By Devon

from Goffstown NH

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

i started with this bass, and its not too bad for a cheap starting bass, with only one pickup it gets sloppy, and theres not much for tone. i played mine the other day and its not a bad pop guitar for how cheap it is.

Cheap Bass

By 1adam12

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Bronco Bass Guitar:

This is just about the cheapest bass money will buy. So you get pretty much what you pay for. The single pickup is muddy and not sensitive enough for serious play. There are no usefultone controls. Quality control is marginal and the bass tends to buzz or rattle on an open E string. But, if you absolutely want to spend as little as possible and want to modify a bit with a better pickup, this is the bass to buy.
