Great Bass!!

Awesome bass. Let me start out by saying that i've tryed and played anything from cheapies to pedullas. I bought this bass for my main 5 string bass because when i tried it out, i loved it. It looks like a bass that would cost at least 2 to 3 times the amount. I have big meat hooks and it is tough for me to play finger style on smaller basses. So i like the wide spacing at the bridge and at the nut. The ebonal frettboard is nice and tight. The pick ups sound amazing, the brightest i've heard. The active electronics and slap switch allow for such a wide tonal range. If set up properly you can get the action nice and low with the bass, very similar to the pedulla. It is very comforatble to play. Now the bad news. Watch out for the quality control. I recieved the bass and the stack was in the wrong control hole. And the 1st two pots, when you moved them they made a grinding noise over the amp.I unscrewed the back cover plate and readjusted the circuit board wich was jammed in there pushing against the pots causing the noise. I had to drill out the proper size hole for the stack in the proper position. Despite the normal lightness of basswood, The bass weighs alot, probably double what my schecter custom 5 weighs, and a good 2 lbs over my heavy swamp ash j-bass. Other than that, the bass Rocks. Just wish they made a frettless. An all around plus from me. Good luck.

Great Bass

I've had this bass for about two weeks and I love it!! I've been playing for about 30 years and have 9 other basses and this one rates right up there with the most expensive ones I own. The neck is fantastic and the action is great. the electronics are awsome and sounds wonderful on my recordings. don't let the squier name deter you, this is a very well built bass and you won't be disappointed.
