Good Starter Bass
I got this as my first bass. I am a guitar player, but figured it would be fun to give bass a shot. This is a good bass for the money that is fun to pick up and play. If you want to start playing bass, this is quite a good bass to start with. The only problem i have had with it is that it comes out of tune somwhat easily. Otherwise, this is a good bass for the money and great to start with!

Pretty Good
I have owned this bass for several years, and it is still working fine, despite several minor accidents. You might get a bit of fret noise at first, but it will go away with time as the wood ages. It is best for straight up rock n' roll and punk, but for jazz or metal I would recommend the Squier 70's jazz bass. But overall, this is a good beginner bass, especially if you're not sure if you're going to stick with it.

Good buy!
I got this bass for Christmas two years ago, and it was my first bass. Before then I had never played a bass in my life. It's a very easy bass to play, and I would highly recommend it for beginners. The sound is great whether you play with a pick, your fingers, or you slap (I prefer fingering). The pickups are in the perfect spot to play finger style because it gives you something to rest your thumb on.
I really only have two complaints about the bass.
1) When you play from about the 10th fret down the strings buzz a little and it's noticeable. Not that it sounds bad or anything but I feel it takes away from the sound. To solve that problem I just play with my bass tuned down all the time and it's not as noticeable.
2) The output jack is on the front of the bass. I managed to break the original cable that came with the bass because I jerked my bass up too hard and my foot was on the cable: now when I use the cable it adds a lot of static. I also managed to mess up my monster cable in the same way but I fixed it so it's cool. I had to fix the input jack yesterday because it fell off into my bass after it getting looser and looser since I play and move around so much. It was a very easy problem to fix however, all I had to do was take the fretguard off and screw the jack back to it.
Neither of these complaints really make me think much less of the bass. It is an amazing bass, and it is very durable: I've dropped it on tile floors and banged the head on stuff and it's held up fine without even a scratch. The bass has a great range and I boost mine even further by hooking it up to my Q-Tron whenever I play...it also adds a lot of funk to whatever you play :]I highly recommend this bass to anyone who wants to learn bass and even to those of you who have been playing awhile because this is an all around great bass.

Good bass for beginers
I have this bass in red and i really enjoy playing it. For its price i feel that this bass is great for begginers, but also for intermediate players. The bass is in my lap right now as i am typing this. I can't help but to pick it up all the time. Sound and performance is pretty good and the look is great. I do recommend you get yours fixed up with new strings and all that good stuff. Made mine sound a lot better. The look and sound makes this bass a pretty good buy for its value.

awesome!
I got this bass for christmas. It rocks! I dont own a nice bass amp, but i have a 15w fender amp and it sounds awesome on it. I play it in the jazz band and it works great for that style of music. The only bad thing about it is that the knobs on it are loose. Other then that, this guitar is definately awesome from its looks, to its quality and tone.
