Chiming, jangle-pop tone with vintage vibe, value and versatility.

Built on the Fender® '69 Telecaster platform, the semi-hollow Squier Vintage Modified Telecaster Thinline features a rosewood fingerboard, Duncan Designed™ Telecaster pickups, chrome knurled knobs, a parchment pickguard, vintage six-saddle bridge and three-way switching. The distinctive f-hole design and semi-acoustic construction come together for a unique, jangle-pop vibe at an amazing price. This guitar also has a vintage 6-saddle bridge, allowing for more control over intonation. From The Byrds to early R.E.M. to now, America loves jangle pop, and this is the perfect guitar for this, power pop or any style. The shorter 24-3/4" scale length makes note bending easier.

Vintage Modified! Players from beginner to intermediate and beyond have done it for years—whether installing hotter pickups, alternate pickguards, or just plain personalizing their instruments with fancy paint jobs, modified means adding new twists to a familiar design. Squier's Vintage Modified Telecaster Thinline guitar features a semi-hollow body with a distinctive f-hole and classic Tele® tone from two Duncan Designed™ Telecaster pickups.

  • Pleasant surprise

As reviewed by B on 7/24/2008

I was looking for a good beginner guitar for my 12 yr. old to practice on. I have the '72 Fender tele thinline, which I love, and so does he, so I knew this Squier would be a good fit in terms of weight and ease of handling for him. He is very pleased with it, but I did not expect the guitar to be as good as it is! Great, clean sound on all pickups -- "rich and buttery" is the best way to describe it. My favorite aspect of the guitar is by far the feel of the fretboard and neck. It is outstanding; soft and smooth without being slick or slippery. Very comfortable to play, with nice low action that is easily adjustable. Very happy with the purchase.

  • Great tone for the buck

As reviewed by savage on 3/20/2009

Been on a guitar hiatus for over 20 years....last gig was a traditional string band playing acoustic 12- and 6-string, banjo, teachest bass. Decided to get back into electric and picked this little beauty up. I've been a Gibson guy all along, but my eyes have been opened to Fender's tonality and fun. You just can't go wrong with this axe. Bought a beautiful Laguna 322 about the same time, but I just can't keep my hands off this little tele! It will do anything you ask of it and make you come back for more. A few set-up quirks, but otherwise, put a set of DR lites on it and it's ready out of the box.
