Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar HH Electric Guitar Blemished - Like New (H69850)

The look and style of yesteryear with updated specs and electronics.

With its offset waist, contoured body, and 24" scale fast action neck, the new Vintage Modified Jaguar® gives a nod to its iconic forbearer but has other things going for it that make it truly 'modified'. The unique top-loading hardtail bridge features string saddles which are adjustable for intonation and designed to have a 9.5" radius when sitting flat on the bridge plate. The bridge is anchored at the rear of the plate while the front sits atop height adjustment screws which can be raised or lowered to achieve desired string height/action while subtle adjustment at the rear (anchor) achieves the correct bridge angle. The Jaguar HH is equipped with a set of Duncan Designed™ pickups which offer a multitude of "hot-rodded" humbucking tones. Other features include '62 Jazz Bass concentric volume/tone controls, vintage style tuners and a comfortable one-piece maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.

so i was saving all my money to get the fender blacktop HH jaguar, but i went to guitar center to actually play it for the first time. And this was laying right next to it so i thought id give it a try, first of all this thing sounds better than the fender, its more in your face and loud (better for punk rock) also it cost like $150 less. and the overall feel on it was more comfortable then the fender. so dont waste the $150 and just get this guitar.

  • Quality control....Squier needed to do more.

As reviewed by Kyle Covey on 10/23/2013

My wife surprised me with this guitar in Fiesta Red for our Anniversary. It was well packaged and wrapped, and came fast! Finish was awesome and I really loved the finish on it. But when plugged in the neck pickup was lacking in output (about 70% output), and the bridge pickup was barely audible. Because I dig the features, it could have been a fluke with the actual unit I received - hence my review is a 3...GC's warehouse receives the units boxed and sends out unopened, so it came from factory that way. Online support answered my email query but called it a Jaguar BASS (?); so I called Support and was advised of return/exchange options. I called my local GC (where I would have tried out model first had it been in stock); Store manager Toby at Englewood CO was quite friendly and offered solutions. I took it in to fix, but played a Fender Modern Player Jaguar with P90's and ended up paying the difference and left with that.

  • Great sounding guitar!

As reviewed by BRIAN HUBBLE on 7/9/2012

Ok, for starters, the only Fender guitar I ever played that felt and sounded really good to me was an early 90's Strat with a scalloped body and active Fender Lace pickups. The rest all seemed too noisy and tinny to me. Until now! Not only does this thing look like a million bucks but it sounds incredible! I really didn't expect a guitar in such a low price range to have the punch and clarity that this one does. I picked one up in a music store just out of curiosity, what with it's retro look and concentrically stacked volume and tone knobs. I was really blown away by the way this thing sounds! I expected a plain vanilla, muddy sound out of it but the Duncan Designed pickups are amazing! The neck feels great and mine played great right out of the box! I used to play with a small string of effects but I've found that I get the best tone and punch just by plugging into my 2 x 12" amp and tweaking it from there. Nothing else needed or added. Just a straight forward, beautiful sounding guitar. It seems the Squire brand has come a long way in terms of quality and value. Love it!
