Classic in vibe, with modern playability.

The Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic '50s is an electric guitar that is dripping with coolness and classic Fender vibe. The Duo-Sonic guitar was originally conceived as a student-grade model designed to capture the attention of 1950s youth caught up in the burgeoning rock 'n' roll craze. Collectors, performing musicians and Fender fanatics have since come to know the Duo-Sonic as an ultra-cool addition to the Fender line of Fine Electric Instruments.

Coming in Desert Sand over Basswood, this 21 fret gloss maple neck prize combines a comfortable 24" scale with the modern playability of a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets. Equipped with a custom set of AlNiCo V single-coil pickups and three-way selector switch, the Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic produces bright, clear tones that are unmistakably Fender.

Classic Vibe!
Back in 1982, the very first Squier by Fender guitars and basses came ringing out of Asia. Known for their excellent vintage-quality look, feel, sound and construction, those early Squier instruments and their Fender branded counterparts are now highly sought-after collector's items revered by guitar enthusiasts as models of "getting it right" while aiming at value-conscious players. The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and vibe. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct, but rather imparting the 'vibe' of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations—all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value—Classic Vibe!

  • You WILL forget it's made in china

As reviewed by Kevin on 6/29/2011

I must disagree with everyone who down played this guitar. It is surpisingly well built, soild with no flaws. The first thing I notice is desipite being a squire, it is more wuite then a lot of Fenders I tried. I mainly play metal, and runnig through a spider 3 15 watt on the Insane setting, full blast with the guitar within 3 feet will not have harsh feedback or hum. Besides in the middle position it's fully canceled out. Lets talk tone, It's based on a fender so you have that fender snap and attack to it. When Playing metal, it's very clear and cutting but it's not hard on your ears and despite what someone has said here, the tone is full enough for shreding and sustained notes alike and on clean you can get beautiful clean tones for blues, ska, country you name it. When it comes down to it, yes it's a squire, get over it. A few lace sensors or fender pups and hardware swaps if you fancy and you have a vintage beast, from china. I owned and played everything from squire and epi to Fender, Gibson, PRS, Music man. This is a STEAL.

  • Sweet

I'm not one to brag about my Squires because i usually play American Fender and Gibson guitars... but this guitar is great! Sound: this guitar is great if you're looking for a clean high treble tone. Good for muted rhythms Ease of use: one volume one tone and a 3 way switch how much easier can it get with a guitar with 2 pickups? Smooth neck makes it a breeze to slide up and down 3 octave scales The light weight body makes it easy to take everywhere even on tour Price: great for what you're getting...its a total bargain

  • Flippin' sweet!

As reviewed by Kyle on 8/19/2009

I have the Fender version of this guitar, and if the Squier version is anywhere near the Fender one, this guitar is awesome! It is a smaller guitar, but it's a really incredible guitar! There are two pickups which you can use each individually, or you can use the 3-way switch and if you put the switch in the middle position, both pickups act as a humbucker. I play this guitar in a rock band and it has its own crunchy sound. Overall, I'd say GET THIS GUITAR!
