Classic vibe with modern refinements.

The Squier Classic Vibe Jazz 60s is an electric bass guitar that has all of the deluxe elements its Fender big brother did when first introduced in the 1960s: groovy offset waist design, narrow width, fast action maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, 2 custom single-coil pickups with AlNiCo V magnets, individual volume controls that allow you to solo either pickup's sound or blend them for new sounds, and a master tone control for overall tone shaping.

The look is Fender all the way - classic Olympic White over basswood with a traditional tortoiseshell pickguard with thumb rest. Features include a HiMass bridge with brass barrel saddles, rosewood 20-fret vintage tint gloss maple neck with the modern playability of a 9.5" radius, and vintage-style frets. Tonal versatility and an up front sound - quick and punchy with enough clarity and harmonics to slap and pop.

Classic Vibe!
Back in 1982, the very first Squier by Fender guitars and basses came ringing out of Asia. Known for their excellent vintage-quality look, feel, sound and construction, those early Squier instruments and their Fender-branded counterparts are now highly sought-after collector's items revered by guitar enthusiasts as models of getting it right while aiming at value-conscious players.

The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and vibe'. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct, but rather imparting the vibe' of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value Classic Vibe!

NEW REVIEW - The Classic Vibe has got some Soul!

BUY THIS BASS NOW!!! Now that I have your attention I will sum this up nicely with one statement. This is the overseas version of an American Vintage Jazz. The entire fit and finish is top notch and worthy of being considered a higher priced model. I have replaced my Hamer USA custom with the Squire Classic Vibe Jazz as my primary Bass. Everything is great right from the go. All I did was replace the strings with my personal faves and have just rolled on from there. If I do anything it will be a little pickup replacement with some Lindy Fralin's but that is only a wish, not a need. I seriously think that Fender may come to their senses and discontinue this baby so I say jump on one as soon as you can. You will not be disappointed.

Squire is no long the Cheap version of Fenders!

The sound is pretty amazing and if you don't look at the headstock you'll forget your even playing a squire. It's pretty much standard jazz bass functions with a nice look to it, added with a HiMass bridge so say goodbye to those old standard squire bridges. I just needed a back up for my Musicman Sterling but this is something I would gig with and i've been using this bass primarily for the last 2 days! If ppl loved squires "Vintage Modified" series lookout and prepare to be blown away by the "Classic Vibe" series. Just one last note, i'm not a big fan of glossy necks but this one feels similar to the jaguar neck and I can see it getting sticky as you gig on for hours but no big deal.

Great bass for the money

Hi everyone. If you are looking for a great low priced bass, look no further. It truly has that "Classic Vibe" The fit and finish is flawless, I realy like the vintage tint on the neck. The tone is great for any style. It has that classic Larry Graham slap tone. The bridge pickup has a nice growl which I like. You may want to change the pickups if you plan to record with this bass. I swapped mine out with some EMG HZ passive jazz pickups which gives it a whole new range of tonal capabilities and alot more punch, and they are supper quite. When I was checking it out, it only took me 10 minutes of playing it and I knew I was taking it home. It sounded better than the Fender mexican standard that was hanging next to it. I would recommend this bass to anyone no matter what your skill level is. It is truly a great bass.

2008 Classic Vibe Jazz Bass

The finish is flawless, no dents, dimples or edge lines. The neck pocket has a nice crisp sharp edge with no chips or dings. The neck finish is also flawless. The frets are just a little sharp on the ends but no more than a lot of more expensive guitars. The PU's are alnico singles and sound very good. The tuners hold tune precisely and the bridge is one hunk of metal. Set up as bought was pretty good, no buzz or rattles. I lessened neck relief just a little bit but otherwise left as is.

Nice bass and not just "for the money"

The vintage tint and highly laquered neck is attractive and plays easily. The pickups are well-balanced and are equal in volume with good output, while retaining all the classic Jazz Bass tones you want out of an instrument like this. The paint/finish/workmanship is good, and only at the neck/body joint do you see evidence of an inexpensive instrument. This is to be expected, perhaps. The instrument is weighted nicely and the hardware does not seem cheap or cheezy. I bought this as a "backup bass" of sorts, and I have used it as my main bass on a few gigs since I've had it. New Fender American Standard Jazz Basses are fine, but this instrument really will make you think hard about this question: "Are the Am Std. Jazz Basses REALLY $1,000 (or more) better???" I say no, and I think you will too.
